(edit)
Children at Ashcombe Primary School were stopped from exchanging cards because the head teacher said they were not emotionally mature enough to cope.
Peter Turner told parents of the 430 pupils that cards would be confiscated.
One pupil's mother said: "I think it's outrageous. They're just children. Why spoil their fun?"
The woman, whose son attends the school, said: "It's comical really. I couldn't believe it when I saw the newsletter.
(edit)
Mr Turner said in the newsletter that children get upset when they are "dumped" which interrupts their learning.
He said children should wait until they are mature enough emotionally and socially to understand the commitment in having a boyfriend or girlfriend.
A woman who has a seven-year-old at the school said: "I think it's absolutely ridiculous.
'Parents laughing'
"It's a tradition, I can remember when I used to receive cards from boys in school. It's a lovely thing to do.
"Most of the parents were laughing about it, but the children are wondering what's going on because they've sent cards before."
Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe also criticised the move.
She said: "It's only a bit of fun once a year and it doesn't mean anything to kids that age.
(edit)
He said: "Ashcombe is a primary school and they believe that children under the age of 11 are still emotionally and socially developing and therefore cards declaring love can be confusing.

Did somebody actually make the mistake of publicly referring to Sunday as “SAINT Valentine’s Day” ?
That would explain it.
To: Stoat
I thought it had to do with St. Valentine being a Catholic saint. Can't offend the muslims you know.
Regardless....this is downright silly. Heck, when I was in school, the only valentine I ever received was from the teacher...just so I wouldn't feel badly because none of my classmates gave me any. Really, I didn't feel badly at all. Didn't turn me into a serial killer.
The whole world has gone mad.

"Mr Turner said children should wait until they are mature enough emotionally and socially to understand the commitment in having a boyfriend or girlfriend."
This is a case of a group of perverted adults imposing the rules of serious relationships on primary school children.
Exchanging valentines is not tantamount to a proposition, it's just a childhood tradition. I remember getting Valentines in grammar school, and everybody gave everybody a valentine card...it meant nothing other than participation in an exchange of friendship and acceptance by your "peers".
These crazy perverts who are teachers and administrators at that school probably don't have a bit of trouble teaching the same students how to apply condoms...but bring in a "be my valentine card" and all hell breaks loose.
These people don't belong in education, they belong in a rubber room.

what utter crap.
My kid had a birthday party for his 7th last year and gave out about 5 invitations. The teacher scolded him for no inviting everyone in the class and told him it was rude.
Believe me I went to that school as soon as I found out and scolded the teacher.
It’s about time for teachers to understand that kids need to be taught that they’re not going to get along with everyone in their life so why be two faced about it? It’s normal in life for people to not get along with everyone who they meet or work with .
This valentines my kids were told that if they bring a present in for valentines then they have to bring everyone a present, well no way does my sons want to bring presents for other boys.

There is no emotionally maturity required for those acts. I mean we aren't talking about love, just sex. /sniveling lib.

today some teachers and parents make their kids give presents to all the kids in the classroom, why? My kids don't get along with everyone so why should they give a present to someone who they don't like, especially a boy to a boy. Mothers day and fathers. I heard stories of teachers telling kids at a school in MA that they will not celebrate it because not all kids have both parents. Well I never had any parents but I never cared, it's life , you get on with it. There's far too much emotions running around now a days. No wonder many boys are turning into girlie boys.

In the Mirror, some toady described as a "nurse", said "most parents" are with Mr Turner. Ummm nurse. UK puplic health system. again, Leftist Totalitarian Propoganda from a Government Bureaucrat in a white uniform. Most parents, in her case, me, myself, and I is with the principal. Spoil fun of the kids for the greater good and control and reliance on the state.
Notice that in one of the articles the area is represented by a
Conservative in parliament, who said that it was wrong to ban the valentines.
I remember that on one talk show a
WAITRESS called in said she was lesbian, and "most of us" (whoever us is) prefer to be called
WAITRONS That is what this so called nurse-bureaucrat reminded me of.
Actually `waitron` reminded me of the Jetson's maid...
Probably not too far from this `nurse` who with herself, is supporting the principal.

More idiocy out of the UK.

If the card is a gay card will they confiscate it? If the card is a “transgendered” card will they grab it?

"He said: "Ashcombe is a primary school and they believe that children under the age of 11 are still emotionally and socially developing and therefore cards declaring love can be confusing." Man! That's amazing!!! They can't have Valentines, BUT, they can have condoms and birth control pills and abortions. Unreal!
To: Stoat
“they were not emotionally mature enough to cope”
if that’s the case, the children are not emotionally mature enough to cope with gay-brainwashing or jihadi-indoctrination.
