I gather from this ceremony that Canadian culture consists entirely of that produced by aboriginals, pop-music of U.S. origin, and SLAM poetry. And fiddles.

Bummer to hear about all the hippie crap going on during the opening ceremony, but expected some of this given that its Canada. I’m here on the west coast so the begining of the ceremony hasn’t even started yet on NBC. Thanks for the warning. I’ll make sure I skip it when the fat hippie youtuber starts flapping his dumb gums.
The ski jumping qualifying did get me excited. Good to hear that Lindsey Vonn is doing better and could be ready to compete in a couple days. Team USA is looking very strong this time. Love it!

What a great opening MFH.. thank you for the thread.
I stretched out & watched the opening but will admit to dosing off several times including the entry to the stadium of most of the teams after the initial 10 or so.
Nice job by the committee & NBC(choke on those words dolly)
Look forward to following the games and I am one who enjoys the personality interviews & bio stories.

Honest to God...I thought it was a pretty good Opening Ceremony.
I was especially impressed with the whales.

I’m glad to see we are repeating the format or only seeing the top few competitors and copious amounts amounts of bob costas running his stupid mouth. I’ve noticed that the non-primetime coverage is much, much better.

Ha, just fast forwarded through 20 minutes of Bravo Sierra with absolutely NO event coverage.
Might have something to do with why they are losing 200M. I miss the days when ABC used to do it and do it right.
