Fox News has been making a serious charge about mainstream political reporters: They hate Sarah Palin.
This is not just wrong, it’s absurd. The reality is exactly the opposite: We love Palin.
And if Palin does not exactly love us, she’s smart enough to recognize how quickly reporters devour every provocative remark she utters. She knows how to exploit our weakness to guarantee herself exposure far out of proportion to her actual influence in Republican politics.

For Palin, the benefit is the exposure she needs to maintain her public profile and stir up chatter about a potential presidential candidacy — both of which help her continue to rake in millions of dollars in speaking fees. She also gets a villain with which to further energize her supporters: The more she convinces them “the MSM” hates her, the more they love her.
The problem is that this relationship — what in Hollywood they call being “frenemies” — treats Palin as though she were the central figure in the politics of 2012. No realistic appraisal of Palin’s current strengths and weaknesses or of the history of Republican politics suggests that this is necessarily true.
They love to hate her, just look for an opportunity to belittle her.
Just because the publicity helps her doesn’t mean the MSM doesn’t hate her. That does not follow.
They don’t hate her. They have contempt for her. It”s a word game
For the media, Palin is great at the box office. Among modern American political figures, she is second only to Barack Obama in generating clicks (for Web sites such as this one) and ratings (for the cable news networks hungering around the clock for fresh material).
The obvious point this typist is ignoring is that while both Obama and Palin generate ratings and traffic, the content and tone of the media coverage is completely different.
Fawning liberal mainstream media articles about Obama tend towards the worshipful and adoring, while articles on Palin needle and jab and try to find some new angle to highlight a perceived flaw.
If Obama says something idiotic (like "corpse man") it's a tree falling in the forest with nobody there, as far as the media is concerned. But if Palin's daughter's disgruntled idiot ex-boyfriend utters a comment about her parenting skills, the mainstream media interrupts regularly scheduled broadcasting to trumpet the news.
The morons who wrote this crap know that's the real complaint. Or they're complete idiots if they don't.

On the one hand they believe she is ignorant but on the other hand she is brilliant enought to manipulate them. Amazing logic isn't it?
Yeah, right. Now Palin is exploiting the press to get coverage she doesn't deserve? She's making them cover her in the news? BS!
Palin didn't make any provocative remarks when the press zoomed in on her hand, saw a few words written there, and tried to create a "Handgate" scandal out of a couple speech notes.
Truth is, they hate her and they thought they found a new way to make her look bad. Sarah came out of it smelling like rose, and they looked like petty, nitpickers who took a completely meaningless event and stretched it over several news cycles.
It is true that Palin knows how to exploit their weakness... No matter what they try, she plays them like a fiddle.
When they show contempt for Sarah Palin, they are showing contempt for us.
They think she’s stupid, because they think we’re stupid.
They discount the Tea Party because they discount us.
I am praying they don’t wake up until it’s way too late.
