Let's see:

- Martha Coakley portrayed Scott Brown as a pro-life conservative.
- The mainstream media portrayed Scott Brown as a pro-life conservative.
- Scott Brown's apologists portrayed him as a pro-life conservative.

And despite being portrayed as a pro-life conservative Scott Brown won by five points. If a candidate who is portrayed as a pro-life conservative can win in Massachusetts that means a genuine pro-life conservative can win ANYWHERE.

There are still a lot of Catholics in RI so a candidate a little to the right of Brown can still do well imo, in fact Kennedy’s recent attacks on the Church didn’t serve him well.
