New Brunswick Liberal MLA Abel LeBlanc was suspended from the provincial legislature Friday a day after he was expelled for the day for losing his temper and using an obscene hand gesture at the Opposition.
The incident happened after Speaker Roy Boudreau ordered LeBlanc to apologize for heckling Tory MLA Margaret-Ann Blaney and gesturing at her.
LeBlanc refused.
When the Opposition cried out in protest, LeBlanc said: "Well, I am going to tell you (Carleton Tory MLA) Dale (Graham) I will walk outside with any one of youse (sic) here. Don't ever laugh at me. Yes, I gave you that (hand gesture) and I will give you that again."
At this point, LeBlanc made the obscene gesture again on camera.
"And I will give you this," he said, shaking his fist. "If you want to go outside. You're a punk."
The house erupted and when it calmed down, Boudreau said LeBlanc must apologize or leave the legislature.
LeBlanc left the house.
On Friday morning, the Liberals and Conservatives moved a motion calling for the suspension and for the Speaker to decide on the length, Loredana Catalli Sonier, clerk of the legislative assembly, told Canwest News Service.

I give the same to Pelosi and Reid all the time. Therapeutic.
Pressure is getting to them.
That`s the party trying to sell all of NB`s assets to Quebec! They`re exactly like obama and the democrats. They`re gonna ram it through no matter what anyone says and don`t seem to care they`re headed for political oblivion in the fall of `10 election.
Maybe those assets should be offered to the folks in New Hampshire...
Canada ping!

The Daily Gleaner's editorials make for enlightening reading re NB Power these days.
Exactly,
Premier Graham is trying to sell out NB Power Comapny to Quebec Power. Quebec is trying to take over New Brunswick, has been ever since Trudeau.
Yes the French are bound and determioned t have cultural sovereignty over New Brunswick. And they are being fought, HARD.
He was RIGHT!.. RUde, uncouth and vulgar, but being *RIGHT* does not excuse impolite behaviour.
Pity...
All I can add is: if MB thought that the Newfies got the short end of the stick on the James Bay Project, boy oh boy are they in for a rude awakening when this goes down.
