actually, by 88 Reagan was in favor of a foreign policy of not meddling in other peoples affairs *far too late of course!*, there’s a quote attributed to him about how foolish meddling in the middle east is/was

Thank God for President Reagan, because of his radical and daring global confrontation of Communism, I went back into the military.

His willingness to engage the enemy and invade foreign countries, combined with his massive military build up and the rallying of the people at home and his SDI, finally brought down the global monster.

I remember when the Soviets were shipping their most advance fighters to Latin America and Reagan blocked them, those heady days when SOF had a million dollar reward offered for the first captured Hind 25, I was looking for mercenary work during parts of that period many guys found it.

Man, that Ronald Reagan was one wild guy, he flipped the entire world over, Savimbi in Africa, Stinger missiles in Afghanistan, he was no isolationist.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Not being an isolationist or a non interventionist, Reagan remained engaged on all matters related to foreign affairs and international matters.

Even as he was winding down his Presidency, throughout 1988 the Reagan continued with a strong pro-active foreign policy effort: in support of the Nicaraguan Contras democratic resistance against the communist Sandinistas; ordered US military strikes against Iranian military targets in the southern Persian Gulf; continued extending military aid to Pakistan; remained fully engaged in the Cyprus dispute; continued negotiations for a Nuclear and Space Arms agreement; continued applying pressure on the Arab/Muslim States for a ME resolution in their conflict with Israel; imposed economic sanctions against Panama; implementing the Afghan Geneva peace accords with the Soviets. And under Reagan the US remained a member of NATO.

YOU may call that meddling. I call it leadership in looking out for America's best interests.

“Face it, Ron and Rand Paul are dangerous and naive kooks.”

Because the status quo is so sane and so wonderful!

Maddow supports Rand Paul? ROFLOL! That is one of the funniest things I have read and people on here expect us to believe he is a conservative. No way!

“if Reagan were alive today there is no doubt whom he would endorse IMO”

Just like Ron Paul did for Reagan? Err wait... he said he was a failure. Doubt it.

BTW, I’m guessing Charlie Sheen! LOL
