Hey Titus, EEE was correct.
Today’s “conservatives” no longer believe in small government. They have become more progressive in their thinking, hence giving us progressive Neocon candidates like Bush & McCain.
"Neocon" - a term, like "racism," that means the one using it has no argument. Typically used by libertardians and Ron Paul nuts.
I've noticed, libertarians tend to think conservatives are "big government" because conservatives oppose abortion, oppose the redefinition of marriage to include homosexual "marriage," oppose the legalisation of prostitution, oppose the legalisation of all drugs, and oppose private roads, private court systems, and private armies.
It was libertarians that made me become a conservative.
Here is where "NeoCon" comes from, by who I believe is the creator of the phrase "Neoconservatism" himself (Irving Kristol, the father of Bill Kristol of FOX News):
BTW, both Rand & his father Ron are strongly PRO-LIFE. While I am not an actual card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party anymore, there is a stong pro-life faction w/in the LP called Libertarians For Life. I think that most of the LP's most recent Presidential candidates were pro-life also -- including the late, great Harry Browne & former Rep. Bob Barr.
The STATES are the ones who should be dealing w/ the other items you brought up (queer marraige, highways, etc.), & most libertarians that I know would settle for getting the feds out of thise issues first. Whether the states do likewise is up to The People, which is exactly what the Founding Fathers intended.
