On Feb. 6, former President Ronald Reagan would have celebrated his 99th birthday. Since he's thought of as a conservative icon, some have wondered what he would have thought of the modern conservative movement, specifically the tea parties and the rise of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
If you listen to Reagan's son Ron, who has recently appeared on MSNBC's "Hardball" and HLN's "The Joy Behar Show," and tends to have a left-of-center perspective, one might think Reagan would have looked down upon the tea party protests and Palin. That's not the case according to his other son Michael.
Michael Reagan, who is said to have played more of a prominent role with the former president's campaign than his brother, spoke with the Media Research Center's Business & Media Institute on Feb. 12 and ardently disputed his brother's claim that Ronald Reagan would have looked down upon the conservative movement.

Interesting that Reagan’s adopted Son takes after him much more than his natural one.
And TENDS to?????
Yeah, it is.
"You're up, kid. Make it count!"
Both of his children with Nancy are rather left leaning. I have always thought Mr and Mrs Reagan loved each other so much that their children felt like outsiders. I think all the leftie stuff was attention seeking.
Maureen and Michael are from his first marriage. Michael was adopted by President Reagan and Jane Wyman. It is a shame that Maureen has passed away, she would no doubt back up Michael’s statement.
Why would we care what Ron Reagan claims his father would do about something 30 years later?
Reagan would have supported the Tea Party Patriots 100%.
If you do an image search on Google for a “smarmy prick” Non Reagan’s picture shows up.
The goons on MSNBC want Ron Reagan to say Ronald Reagan would have thought the tea parties sucked so they can appease their 5 rabid lefty lunatic viewers.
love this pic!!!!
Reagan often went to the people for help when he was having difficulty dealing with the socialists, telling them what the socialists were trying to do and why he thought it was a bad idea. He encouraged folks to call their representatives and let them know how they felt.
He knew that power in the United States ultimately belongs to the people and lived it.
I don’t know what he would have thought about Palin, but I’m pretty sure that if not in office he would have been out there right along with the tea partiers.

Yep, as if Ronald Reagan was their hero back then. How come Ron thinks his Dad was suddenly a liberal after he was dead, yet he disagreed with Reagan when he was alive for being conservative?
If true, that is bad parenting. I love my wife dearly, but we still make plenty of time and love for our children.
That pic needs to be used in her campaign.
I love it
Yeah, the ballerina must’ve taken after the mothers side and none of the father’s. Reagan wouldn’t approve of any relative of his hanging out with the moonbats at PMSNBC.
I wonder whether Ron Reagan suffers from some kind of Stockholm Syndrome, where he was so traumatized as a young boy/man by the savage criticism of his father by the leftists that he now defensively identifies with the aggressors. ( In his damaged psyche, it’s safer).
I think you might be right.
As conservative as I am, I still sometimes cringe when a person makes a remark on TV which is anti-liberal. I just know he will be attacked relentlessly. Sort of the Dan Quayle thing where he never did anything wrong yet was savaged by the media to the point where they basically destroyed him.
