Astonishment as scientist at centre of global warming email row admits vital data was not well organised
The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.
Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.
Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.
The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.
And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.
The admissions will be seized on by sceptics as fresh evidence that there are serious flaws at the heart of the science of climate change and the orthodoxy that recent rises in temperature are largely man-made.

Billybob, you're a lawyer and IIRC you've argued in front of the Supreme Court.
What would happen to a lawyer who tried this line in front of a judge?
What would happen to (say) a defendant in a financial fraud case who attempted this defense?

They tried to take our money and freedom on the basis of something they KNEW was sloppy!
Instead look for them to get awards and bonuses - who says crime doesn’t pay. If you’re a big lib, it pays very well....

So Jones is saying that 1910 to 1940 warming and 1975 to 1998 warming can be explained by natural processes, but more recent warming cannot. He further says that there has been no statistically significant warming in the last 15 years. That would cover 1998 to now. So the only warming he claims that cannot be explained by natural causes is the warming that didn't actually take place!
This actually makes sense to me, in the context that Dr. Jones has committed so many sins, by commission and omission that this is all he has that could possibly constitute a defense. He is guilt ridden and facing disgrace, civil suites and perhaps criminal charges. That’s the best he can do, because of the enormity of his many sins.
The admissions will be seized on by anyone caring about the scientific truth. As they should be.
Hmm, only one guy in charge of Global Warming data and if he loses the records he forgets where the data to support his theory came from?
Balderdash.
To imagine paying for a college education or being in the pipeline on research, papers, results and career-generating decisions and work that is based on the frauds this has perpetrated against students, families, banks, communities and entire faculty should lead to multiple class-action suits. I don’t care who you are, this is a sink hole the size of the Grand Canyon.
