Data: Professor Phil Jones admitted his record keeping is 'not as good as it should be'
The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.
Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.
Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.
The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.
And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.
The admissions will be seized on by sceptics as fresh evidence that there are serious flaws at the heart of the science of climate change and the orthodoxy that recent rises in temperature are largely man-made.
Professor Jones has been in the spotlight since he stepped down as director of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit after the leaking of emails that sceptics claim show scientists were manipulating data.

It can't be considered to be exposed, as long as the US media continues to bury Climategate like they've been doing.
Look at our major media. Hardly a peep about this story, which is without a doubt, the biggest fraud ever committed in the arena of science.
Even though the media in Great Britain is all over this story, and breaking new information about the scandal every day of the week, the US media hasn't seen fit to even mention it.
This is censorship on a level unheard of in our history, and should inform every American that there is an ongoing, unholy alliance between the federal oligarchy and what has become their official propaganda agency.

Climategate is just the tip of the iceberg w/ regards to taxpayer funded / government run deceit!!
Been that way for a long, long time. Remember how the media parroted the Ice Age scares in the 1970's. That was all based on a CIA report commissioned after the Soviet Union experienced a major wheat failure due to cold weather in the Ukraine. Hard to accept, but we have been lied to since birth.
Liberals will never, never, never admit that they were wrong. The “scientific” basis for this movement never existed, if one looked only cursorily at it; so it doesn’t matter if scientists are speaking the truth now. Things will be rationalized aside, like any bad religion. There could be a 1500’ thick sheet of ice on Manhattan, and most New Yorkers would point to carbon dioxide as the source.
When was the last time a government official was tried for and found guilty of treason, and under what circumstances?
