assistant 'professor' Amy Bishop is living proof of why Libs ARE for gun control.

They KNOW they can't control their emotions or themselves when faced with adversity. So Gun Control is kind of like 'a mental strait jacket' for them. If there's no guns around, they won't go on a Killing Spree.

oh, 'UAH'. How's that gun free zone thingy working out for ya?

Seems to me that jealousy by her so called peers had a lot to do with her denial of tenure.

It doesn't seem that way in the picture that's emerging from her students and colleagues.

From the NYTimes:

...Dr. Bishop became convinced...that the chemical engineering professors were trying to keep biology students from succeeding by making the classes too difficult.

“It was one of those things that ultimately became irrational with her, in my opinion,” Dr. Chittur [professor of chemical engineering] said.

Some students also had problems with Dr. Bishop’s teaching style, saying she simply read from the book in class but then tested them on material that she had not covered. Nursing students repeatedly complained to Dr. Podila, the department chairman, as well as to the dean, and even sent a petition, said Caitlin Phillips, a junior in the nursing program, who took two courses with Dr. Bishop in her sophomore year

She was “very socially awkward with students” and never made eye contact during personal conversations, Ms. Phillips said. “We all had kind of a problem with her. She never really taught much. She just read straight from the book.”

But Dr. Bishop also defended students, saying a new policy requiring freshmen and sophomores to live on campus was too expensive and would affect diversity. She was involved in an effort to censure the university president, David B. Williams, over that and other policies, according to Richard Lieu, a Distinguished Professor of Astrophysics at the university who sits on the Faculty Senate.

The real tragedy here are the murdered and wounded, and what she has done to their families, as well as the lives of her four kids, ages 9 to 18.

She’s not some random schmuck. She’s Harvard educated.

What an elitist. What are we growing on the university campus? This makes me sick.

She sounds like about one good half of the Obama Administration, except for the brilliance part.

" John? Bill here. Look, Amy Bishop has contributed heavily to my campaign. Let her go. She didn't mean it I'm sure, and who cares, it was only her brother!"

"Ok Bill, but I'm keeping this one in my back pocket and you'll owe me!"

"I won't owe you John,....I'll OWN you!"

I am at a smaller university and we sometimes we get applications from individuals from Harvard, Yale etc... Some are really good but some come across as very arrogant. We avoid messes by simply not hiring them in the first place.

At one point a friend of mine had the job of hiring research interns. He found Ivy League undergrads to have a massive sense of entitlement, and that people from second-tier did better because they actually were willing to do the work assigned.

Come’on dr.lew, I know a BRILLIANT law professor from Harvard that made it all way to President of the United States, and NO one in the Lame Stream Media has ever suggested that he was over-rated or incompetent! Why I hear he’s a genius. His wife said so!

Well, that clears it up. A depressed white racist female leftist former killer kills other leftist faculty to even score of harassment and intimidation. Hmmmmmm! Very interesting as Artie Johnson would say!

“During a conversation she and I had at one point, she said she got into an argument with another faculty member who accused her of being arrogant and acting like she was better than him, and she told me, ‘That’s because I was arrogant and I was better than him.’ But that was in the context of a heated argument,” Seemann said.

“I think Amy was a little easy to provoke.”

He said his impression was students tried to avoid taking her classes.

Now why would any one avoid taking her classes?

Whoever let her walk the first time bears a lot of guilt for this. She has probably been an unstable time bomb for the last 20 years. It takes a special kind of nut just to walk up and shoot someone who does not threaten them physically.

The world is full of unstable people. Some of them, by the very nature of their neuroses, make excellent workers, tormenting their coworkers in the process.

We have our chance to put him on notice that he probably won't receive tenure, coming this November.

He's already gone postal on the country.
