Obama Pushes The Dictator Button
David Horowitz's NewsRealBlog ^ | February 14, 2010 | Liz Blaine

President Obama decided it’s time to push the dictator button and tell the Legislature they’re expendable. Using the Old Gray Lady for softball coverage, the White House announced the President is prepared to use Executive fiat to advance his energy, environmental and fiscal policies. But what good is signing your agenda into law if you don’t have radicals to implement it? Oh yeah, he’ll also be making recess appointments. It’s good to be King!

On Friday White House chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel announced the President is preparing, “to get the job done.” Translation: Obama is tired of waiting for his agenda to be passed through Constitutional means. Signaling things to come, former campaign and current White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer gave notice, “In 2010, executive actions will play a key role in advancing the agenda.”

President Obama decided it’s time to push the dictator button and tell the Legislature they’re expendable.
I sure hope Barry doesn't get writers cramp for nothing...
Problem 1 for Barry: An EO only affects the way a department in the executive branch functions, i.e: Where the POTUS is the ultimate boss (He can order TSA Workers to Wear Pink Uniforms). Unless said EO is further acted upon by Congress and is passed into law.

Problem 2 for Barry: Given the insurrection occurring by the blue dog RATs against Barry any Power Grab EO ain't gonna pass into law.

Problem 3 for Barry: An ILLEGAL EO written by Barry, like an attempt to bypass Congress, or written regarding a Dept not under the Executive Branch can be taken directly to SCOTUS by a member of Congress (Senator or Rep sues Obama). Mitch McConnell did this with 'McInsane-Findgold' (sic).

Problem 4 for Barry: Two Words -- Nicolae Ceauşescu.

So Barry can write all he wants. But if that EO is not directed to a Dept in the Executive Branch it carries the legal authority of an essay written by Eric Cartman. Otherwise a POTUS, any POTUS, could issue an EO disbanding Congress or the Federal Court system, including SCOTUS.

So one way or another, the Kenyan is gonna learn that the US Constitution really means what it says. Especially the part about the powers granted to the POTUS not being absolute

In 2010, executive actions will play a key role in advancing the agenda.

The good thing about "executive actions" is that they can easily be undone by new "executive actions" as soon as America flushes this foul communist turd Ubanga down the toilet.

Obama is not Nixon, he is worse. Obama is a devout Marsist. Nixon was just a political thug. Obama will find a way to dissolve the Constitution through some kind of crisis, institute martial law, and give Congress a permanent vacation somewhere in a desert tent camp along with their family, extended family, aides and assistants.

They’re a little slow in the house and senate. Once he started adding unvetted czars and various commissions, that might have been the better time to slap him down.

“Obama is not Nixon, he is worse.”

Totally agree. I wasn’t making a character comparison between the two, just using Nixon as a reference point for purposes of discussing the resignation option.

And if he does that, Friend, stand by for a mass march on Washington filled with ARMED & ANGRY Americans with one express purpose..and I think you can guess what that would be. Think: Benito Mussolini.

Granted, he might call on his Black Panther brothers and Muslim Brotherhood to defend him, but that can be easily taken care of.

If all it is is recess appointments, he’s entitled to do that - as evil as his choices are.

Zero can’t use the EOs for this. The biggy is funding. He can attempt to implement, but without funding it’s a no-go.

~And these dem congresscritters who vote on funding know the jobs killing programs Zero and his Marxist buddies want to implement will kill jobs - theirs included.

Is there a web site or does anyone know what powers the POTUS has that can be used through Executive Order? Are all Executive Orders public?

This is a little scary, actually.

Good information, Condor51. What if the president declares an emergency? Aren’t his executive powers expanded?

Barry is heading down the same path that Chilean President Salvador Allende.

He’s the guy who brought that country into abject chaos in the early 70’s and IMO it hasn’t recovered from it yet.

Just go check out Allende’s history and what he was doing and if that does not look pretty much on-track to the modern Obama Presidency, then I just don’t know what to say?

Recess Appointments are not always a bad idea.

True. Though it always depends on who is currently president. But other than that it's standard operating procedure, no biggie. Practically every president has either done it or threatened it. So I really don't get the histrionics ("dictator button").

Moreso, the histrionics hurt the conservatives in getting their message across. Obama is certainly no Hitler, in many ways he's just a puppet of Wall Street and the unions). If you cry wolf all the time people will start to ignore you.

However there are historical comparisons that fit: Obama's James Callaghan (Baron Callaghan of Cardiff, former British PM) and the country needs a Maggie Thatcher. That should be the message.

How can he "recess appoint" anyone when Congress is in session?

*** Good information, Condor51. What if the president declares an emergency? Aren’t his executive powers expanded? ***

Thanks.

Now if the POTUS declares a 'State of National Emergency', yes his powers are expanded, but only for a limited amount of time (can't recall for how long). Congress eventually has to act and make it 'legal'.

Kind of like the War Powers Act where a POTUS has virtually an open hand for 30 days then Congress has to pass a resolution (or declaration of War). Which btw, Clinton ignored during his little war against Serbia. That in itself was an impeachable offense.
