The United States and Pakistani intelligence forces captured the Taliban's top military commander in a secret joint operation in Karachi, Pakistan, the online edition of The New York Times said.
Billed as the most significant Taliban figure since the start of the US-led war in Afghanistan eight years ago and second only to Taliban founder Mohammad Omar, Taliban commander Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was captured several days ago and is currently in Pakistani custody with US officials taking part in his interrogation.
Baradar, an Afghani, was a close associate of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden before the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.
US officials believe he is in charge of the Taliban's military operations and the Taliban's leadership council.

BTW I don't think he was read his Miranda Rights. He is under custody of one the Pak op teams.
Anyone think the Pakistanis have this guy lawyered up? :)
Nope, but he will offer a temporary truce and then flee while one of the ICI sympathizers keeps the back door unlocked for him. If everything we have found out about the Paks intell groups, the guy will be released on the discovery they have the wrong guy, only to restate they were wrong about being wrong.
I thought they skipped the water and hit him with a surf board.
more like a plank
Is he finally going to tell us that Bin Laden has been dead for years now?
Exactly, and you know why the c.i.a. gave this piece of garbage to the Pakistani’s. Cause they don’t have to read him any miranda b.s.
I was in Pakistan last year and the year before doing some work. Some money allegedly turned up missing in one of the rooms we were staying in on a military facility. The stewards were rounded up and taken off. The base commander told us after they were "tortured" none of them confessed to the crime. They were satisfied that none of them stole the money.
I think the Miranda rights in Pakistan are something like, "confess or we will keeeell you."
