I guess her name will be the only name on the democratic ballot and any other will have to be a write in.

Tamyra d’Ippolito: a last minute push to replace Evan Bayh with a real Democrat

Monday February 15, 2010

A cafe owner from Bloomington, she is seeking to be the Democratic candidate for Evan Bayh’s senate seat.

Time is of the essence. Bayh made his announcement at the last possible minute so that Party insiders could pick who gets to be on the ballot. She needs 500 petition signatures in each of Indiana’s nine House districts by noon tomorrow and is 1,000 votes short according to TPM.[update she got the signatures she needed; she is on the ballot]

The Party Machine in IN is actively working against her signature efforts just to elect someone similar to Bayh that will have no chance in November. If elected, she might actually represent the people of Indiana instead of corporations. That concept is foreign to the blue dog infested establishment. If Tamyra D’Ippolito is on the ballot, she is the Democratic candidate.

“I guess her name will be the only name on the democratic ballot and any other will have to be a write in.”

Baron Hill (D-IN, current Congressman) wants that Senate seat that was vacayed by Evan Bayh. I think someone with the name recognition in southern, IN that Baron Hill has would be able to raise 4500 signatures in 24 hours.

This may not be a done deal yet.

perfect. Operation Chaos in the primary should ensure that Hill is not the nominee.

Evan Bayh may as well switch to the Rs now. He is enemy #1 on DUmmies.

Now you still have to beat her. That means people have to get off their lazy butts and vote.

Thought I'd do a little sniffing around there yesterday to get the 'insane assessment' and I agree with you.

The only way he gets 500 signatures from every congressional districts in the State is if the fix is in. It would mean that every district leader has 500 signatures in a desk drawer for just such an occasion.

Not if she's a cafe owner from Bloomington. Probably as progressive as they come.

A user comment on TPM:

I live in Bloomington, Indiana-where this new candidate is from. I can tell you with 100% certainty that this woman will be CRUSHED in a general election. She would have been crushed in a primary even if Bayh had not been a factor. She is an amateur to the 3rd degree and is a bit of a laughing stock around town. She owns an Italian Restaurant that is basically open when she feels like it and the business (surprise, surprise) is going under. I have spoken with her on the phone (trying to learn more about her restaurant when it first opened) and she is a complete flake. Last Christmas eve, I called to ask her if they were going to be open, we had a brief extremely confusing conversation in which she basically said, “Maybe” and then later that day she called my house TWICE to find out why I had called. She’s currently being evicted from the building that houses her restaurant for not having paid rent in several months. Businesses fail, which is completely understandable in this economy, but to try to run for public office even while you are fighting an eviction for not paying rent? That is beyond questionable. As a long time Bloomington resident I can honestly say that I do NOT want this woman representing me. I’m sure she has some big ideas, but I just do not believe that she can follow through (as demonstrated by trying to open up a restaurant in a building without a parking lot.) I would have a hard time voting for her and I think she is a poor choice at best.

Nice steady income, show up for work when you feel like it, worth a try?

Did you see on her Facebook wall where she didn’t know that the term “teabagger” was offensive to Tea Partiers?

You’re right. Bloomington = Ithaca = Berkeley = Boulder = Asheville. Moonbats all.

Sometimes even the “nutty” want representation in America. The late Roman Hruska of NE said that even the mediocre deserve representation, but Hruska was far from mediocre himself. He came from the glory days of Cornhusker politics.
