Foreign Demand for US Treasurys Takes Record Fall
CNBC ^ | 2/16/2010 | Staff

The government said Tuesday that foreign demand for U.S. Treasury securities fell by the largest amount on record in December with China reducing its holdings by $34.2 billion.

The reductions in holdings, if they continue, could force the government to make higher interest payments at a time that it is running record federal deficits.

The Treasury Department reported that foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury securities fell by $53 billion in December, surpassing the previous record of a $44.5 billion drop in April 2009.

Compared to the majority of the envy-driven, green-obsessed, socialist fools on the international scene, your friends are very wise.

There are a lot more out there than we realize.

I found the place that the pails came from in 1999. It was through a coop group that a big order was placed and came by 18-wheeler to commuter parking lot. Everyone met there, paid and unloaded, etc.

Let me know what you think.

Now that I’m in Central Florida there is no place in the summer that is ever below 75 degrees. Maybe if one get a huge freezer for the pails and runs it in refrigeration mode set to 50 degrees, one could do ok.

now they are holding non-interest bearing paper

How do you know that?

Smart money is now going into real property -- real estate, gold mines, etc.

Geeze, you guys. I'm taking the no technology at all route. Right now I'm working on tanning buckskins from dear brains.
During the great depression, people were living in cars. They had to make due with nothing. I want to know how to do it, too.

I’m so tire of hearing all this, not that I haven’t been a participant in this type of doom. God lays out in His word the reason this stuff is happening and the solution. 2Chronicals 7. We’ve been derelict. The Bible rebukes the lost and wicked but God reserves His most stinging rebukes for His people. If our country is at the point of failure it’s because CHRISTIANS are guilty. We need to be honest. The revival of America isn’t coming to come by defeating the commies at the ballot box, or by armed rebellion. It’s going to come by going to Kedron and doing business with God.

I’m including myself.

I know how it works. The problem is that when the Fed buys Treasuries, it is highly inflationary compared to when legitimate buyers like foreign nations purchase them. In short, the taxpayer/citizen gets the shaft through “the hidden tax of inflation.”

Don’t worry! Helicopter Ben will save us. We just need more printing presses. Worrying like this is a big deal is just kookery.

A comment was made on one of these threads yesterday about the person being surprised they hadn’t come up with downloadble and printable dollars yet.

Truth be told, we aren’t far from that.

Underground in Florida! I know I’m talking vacuum sealed but the biological life forms that live in the soil would make this virtually impossible. Termites, moles, everything you can think of. We even have these animals that work their way across our pasture and build mounds of dirt in their path. Everyday I come out and there is another dirt pile about 2 feet away from the previous one from the day before. It’s hilarious. And the path maintains almost the same bearing week after week.

This is part of their de-coupling from us. It was only a matter of time. China News has been running articles about their internal consumption being more and more a part of their economy. Meaning that instead of selling cheap toxic junk to us, they will sell it to each other.

The Treasuries move is China’s way of trying to sneak out the side door before someone yells “Fire!”
