A former member of the Palestine Liberation Organization who has converted to Christianity says a Saudi prince is now the second-largest shareholder in Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, the parent company of the Fox News Channel.
For years the Fox News Channel has described itself as "fair and balanced," free from what some consider the "Kool-Aid" of liberalism and political correctness of other national news agencies. But Walid Shoebat, former Palestinian terrorist who is now a Christian, says ever since Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal became a major stockholder in Fox's parent company, he has been able to influence its news content.
Walid Shoebat small"He himself said, 'I just had to make a phone call to [tell them to] stop using the word Muslim' regarding the rioting in France," Shoebad notes. "Bill O'Reilly says to Ibrahim Hooper, the head of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), that he is an upstanding citizen. Since when was the head of CAIR an upstanding citizen?" he wonders.
The former terrorist adds that viewers will no longer be seeing any so-called "Islamophobes" on Fox.
"Today, I'm not invited at Fox News. Neither is Robert Spencer or Brigitte Gabriel," he laments. "But Ibrahim Hooper is invited to speak at Fox News. It used to be that experts on terrorism who are critical of the Islamic views [were] able to get a voice on Fox News. Those days are gone."
Shoebat concludes that instead of airing those critical views of Islam, Fox News now legitimizes Hooper, the spokesman for CAIR, a group which he maintains is a front for the terrorist group Hamas.

Meanwhile, thank God for Free Republic and the internet!
An example of why media should never allow foreign ownership or large share stock holding.
America has been buried.....
There is CNN.
I ain’t dead yet.
Makes a person wonder if FR can remain “free” if by chance it were to have several millions sent as a donation?
What would Jim do if one day he had say $20 million or more in a single donation?
Makes a person really wonder, they say every man has a price.
I’ve given up on FOX, and bet many more will soon. Just look at oreilly and beck denying the truth about the messiah. That’s enough to make you puke.
OK do you really think because he owns 7% of News Corp he now sits in on production meetings? Do you see him telling Glenn Beck to shut up? Come on there is plenty to worry about in this country, this ranks 200000016.
Same here bud, but the bulk of America is subject to Fox and other products equally skewed, It not about objective reporting anymore. Its about politics. Clearly, we can see the composites in influence, to the point where we have a zombie representing foreign interests as president....
and from what I see, its no longer about America. ITs about foreign interests.
Islamophobes’ what, exactly?
This Islamophobe may have to stop WATCHING Fox if they’re going to cave in.
If this is true, then Fox needs to hear about it. I find myself watching Fox less and less and don't know what guests they now have concerning Islam and terrorism. Maybe some of the conservative media watch dog groups are keeping tabs.
Matt Drudge had a show on FOX, and he wanted to show a picture of a pre-natal surgeon doing a procedure on a fetus. In the pic, the fetus had a grip on the surgeon's thumb with his tiny hand.
Drudge did not even mention the word abortion, he just wanted to show the picture. FOX nixed it, saying that the pic might be "too disturbing" for some of it's audience. Drudge wouldn't pull it, so he was axed.
I lost all respect for FOX then and there.
Nitpick elsewhere, please.
PC is a deadly disease.
What is up with this flood of “FOX News is controlled by the Saudis” stories? I don’t necessary take FOX as the gospel truth, but I have a hard time believing that a <10% stake gets you such an iron fist of control. Smells a bit like a coordinated propaganda effort.
Glenn doesn’t talk about Islam and Islamic terrorism.
I guess this means by my very posting of my opinion it will mean that Free Republic won’t be given any massive donation...with strings attached.
Sorry Jim for sinking the ship.
Well I hope they try, honestly I dare them to try and buy off Free republic like they are doing to FOX.
I demand they put up or shut up.
