Either Bill Maher was doing his best effort to impersonate Mel Brooks as King Louis XVI in "History in the World, Part I" or he has a complete and utter disregard for the intellectual competency of the American people.
Maher, a perennial bomb thrower with a hard left ideology appeared on CNN's Feb. 16 "Larry King Live," facing the king of softball interviews, Larry King, and let it be known he thought alleged terrorism plotter Khalid Sheikh Mohammed should be tried in New York City and that health care should be forced through by the Obama administration, despite the wishes of the American people.
And why should the American people's wishes be ignored? They're "not bright enough."
"But what the Democrats never understand is that Americans don't really care what position you take, just stick with one," Maher said. "Just be strong. They're not bright enough to really understand the issues. But like an animal, they can sort of sense strength or weakness. They can smell it on you."

Most Americans are easily swayed by 10-second sound bites, or what their favorite celebrity idiot spews.

So you are agreeing with Maher, then?
I don’t know that I can recall a day when I have not read a post here wherein the citizenry of the US is referred to as the ‘sheeple’.
The essence of liberalism: We who have never done know more than those that do so daily.
The essence of liberalism: We who have never done know more than those that do so daily.
They institute limited socialism, and when things turn to crap, insist that the only answer is more socialism, greater government control at the expense of personal liberty.
We have had decades of government run schools. Our socialist education system is so bad that now the socialist “elites” insist that the hoi paloi are too ignorant to participate in democracy and legislation should NOT reflect their wishes or represent their interests because they are too dumb to even know where their interests lay (supposedly).
Disgusting!
There was one moment that is simply typical of a certain liberal mind set. Maher paused and the eyes grew round, like some school child making what he thought was a telling point.
Five million have died in the Congo.
I did some digging this morning and I learn what we have already been told. There was a civil war and 3.8 million persons died. I further learn that the death rate in the Congo, makes it 32nd on the list of African countries. Well down from Swaziland, 30 persons per 1000.
I pondered the import of Maher and his five million deaths. What in the tarnation does he expect the average Joe out there to do? I presume that like most liberals he is able to float a human tragedy and sort of insinuate that we are guilty of something or other. Curiously enough people like him who decry U.S. intervention with armed force, seem to think that the horrors of African genocidal wars, could all be solved without force.
Maher looked a little better than he usually does, or my imagination. Usually looks like he has been on some sort of tear and not slept.
Ah the case of the benevolent despot! Sorry Bill, but that never works out so well. Not even with the REEEEELLLYY smart and good people like you!!!
A sanctimonious, condescending, egotist.
Bill Maher is only good for people who like to make witty put downs of vile clowns.
Hey you idiots who watch this asshat on TV and give him the ratings that allow him to continue to spout this garbage - he’s talking about you too! Do you enjoy supporting someone who mocks and degrades you?
His perspective is totally consistent with the president’s; ‘shut up, we know what’s best for you.’
The one that got me was him saying the Marine Corps is socialist.
I don't understand this.
