FOX ^

More than a dozen pristine landscapes, wildlife habitats and scenic rivers in 11 Western states, some larger than Rhode Island and Delaware combined, are under consideration by the Obama administration to become America's newest National Monuments.

According to internal Department of Interior documents leaked to a Utah congressman and obtained by Fox News, the mostly public lands include Arizona deserts, California mountains, Montana prairies, New Mexico forests, Washington islands and the Great Basins of Nevada and Colorado -- totaling more than 13 million acres.

Sources say President Obama is likely to choose two or three sites from the list, depending on their size, conservation value and the development threat to each one's environment.

More and more land turned over to the government and removed from productive use: no mineral extraction, no energy production, no ranching.

This is to help discourage urban sprawl and to keep the sheeple in big, controlable locations.

It is considered wasteful if you have to drive anywhere.

And no property taxes, further cramping local government. Cramping local government is not such a bad idea, but it means that the rest of us will have to pay more. That's a bad idea.

repeat of the Bill Clinton Grande Staircase Escalante scam.
Put strategic areas of natural resources off-limits to us.
(worked especially well because that threw a lot of coal business to Clinton’s Indonesian fund raisers)

Ahh, ok. And who takes care of these? Oh that’s right, the government using our taxes. More government spending, no job creation.

Detroit and New Orleans should be turned into National Parks. The people should be re-located. If it works out (meaning: if crime rates drop after all the people are gone), then I think Washington DC, East St Louis, and Newark should also be considered for National Park status.

So, zero will bring back his statue from Indonesia, have duplicates of it made, and then will place them in various Western states.

Sounds just about right!
