Maybe they should pay for pulling that pump and replacing it every 10 yrs or so....if this fee was cleared by someone who has to pay for their own ‘services’ just to get to the water then that person needs to go. My guess is most were people who have never had anything but city services and figure that all they pay is that little water fee so why shouldn’t you? UGH. Hopefully they won’t come up with this idea around here, my water bill is already high enough.
What is lost on people like you’re talking about (they pay a fee so we should too attitude) is that everytime you service a well to either repair/replace something it will be about $1,500 average.
I’ve pulled this well twice in 25 yrs., keep in mind I’m 450 ft. deep, replaced all tubing and wire and pump on one job, just pump and wire on another (lightning strike) and it was about 2,500 bucks on the “big one”.
And so the water district is going to conserve water for us by taxing, oh yeah, right. But they now have an office and a secretary, golly gee... I suggested exactly what you said about replacement on their dime every 10 yrs....umm-hmmmm.
