BOSTON -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is stepping back into the public spotlight after spending two years behind the scenes laying the groundwork for a second presidential campaign.

Romney has shifted from social issues that brought accusations of flip-flopping and undermined his 2008 White House bid. With unemployment hovering around 10 percent, his new focus is on economic themes and fix-it skills he claims as a former businessman. That plays to what some observers believe would be his strength in a second race.
They could also distinguish him from potential rivals such as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who enjoys widespread grass-roots support but doubts about her mastery of policy, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who, like Romney was four years ago, is untested on the national political scene.

Romney called for lower taxes, more teacher accountability and state-by-state instead of national health insurance expansion, similar to the nearly universal coverage plan he instituted in Massachusetts in 2006.
"There's much more on our positive, intellectually rigorous conservative agenda," he said. "Not all of it is popular. But the American people have shown that they are ready for truth to trump hope. The truth is that government is not the solution to all our problems."

The fastest way for Republicans to lose the next election is for them to force Romney or Huckabee down Conservative throats.
They have learned nothing from Obama’s health care Fiasco.
We dont want Romney or Hucakabee,forced down our throats any more than we want health care, and they had better learn that or face losing. How hard is that for them to understand?
Doesnt surprise me he never really stopped running just kind of put things on pause until now.
I hope that after Mitt fails to receive the Republican nomination in 2012, he will finally decide to withdraw from public life.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

LOL, Ernest Borgnine accepted a fixed sum, instead of part of the gross, because “nobody would watch a movie about a rat”, guess he was wrong.
This movie, however, illustrates the point I was, and have been making about these Romney posts. When you turn off the music, illuminate the dramatic lighting and recognize the horrified expressions and dramatic dialogue, Willard is an ordinary rodent.
You are, in a sense, doing the same thing that was done to create the atmosphere in this movie, and behaving like a Jerry Springer audience while doing it.
