We have MARINES.
Been years since I have on a Navy Base, but the last time I was the gates were manned by civilian police AKA “rent-a-cops”.
The Marines did man the gates, at one time, and still have an on base security force but, unless it has changed, they don’t man the gates nor have routine security duties.
