Nope. On my boat, O gangers had their own quarters. Two to a stateroom. Captain and XO had their own staterooms. LA class boats had a worse situation regarding enlisted berthing than 637 class boats. At least until additional sonar equipment was added to the 637s.

Big mistake. When you have a lot of men working together you get a lot of what men do when they are together - breaking each others stones. All is good-natured camaraderie and it helps make a stressful situation tolerable. When I was on subs, there was very little of that. On patrol we ate, played poker, watched moves and slept on watch.

This may not be a problem once all the guys onboard.... are gay.
As for pregnancy, that can easily be resolved with an onboard abortionist.
Yes, it’s all sick and it’s all stupid. These morons, Obama, Gates and the others, are going to ruin our military.

On my boat, O gangers had their own quarters.I first read that as "A" gangers. They didn't have their own quarters but the rest of us often wished they did.

The solution is simple - bunk the women with the gay men. There - problem solved!

This is NOT going to sit well with a lot of the submariners wives. This is not good. Wait till the wives see the new uniforms:

Yep, Das Boot would've been even better if they'd only had Marlene Dietrich on board....especially the long version...

My son’s a glowworm on an LA-class boat. He says he shares a rack with 2 other guys, and the shower door opens out to the passageway.

True of SSBNs (boomers), which stay submerged for ~6 mos; not so the SSNs. When I was in the sub force, boomers stayed submerged for about 70 days, not six months.

Obamas first in a line of liberal-class submarines for our sensitive Navy.
On a serious note, here is additional specific information:
Military.com
Besides the incoming officers from the academy, the first women submariners will include female supply corps officers at the department head level, Roughead said. The change will be phased in over time to include enlisted female sailors on the SSBN and SSGNs, he said. Women will be added to the Navy's SSN fast-attack submarines after necessary modifications can be determined, he said.
