Inasmuch as DNA analysis has shown that the Sa'ami are the ORIGINAL INHABITANTS of everything but Oregon (1) in what is now the United States, I think it has become necessary to set aside a large chunk of the country for their exclusive use.

First, we need all of the original New Sweden claim. Then we need most of Eastern Pennsylvania, a lot of Western Pennsylvania, all of Western Maryland, half of West Virginia, huge swaths of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Kansas.

Then, a number of chunks of land found within 50 miles of any Clovis site ~ which is a lot of chunks BTW.

We'll promise to move there, occupy the land, repel all invaders, and set up our own laws.

The United States should also pay us an indemnity of $1 trillion per year for the privilege of running their highways through our "chunks" and "swaths".

FOOTNOTES: (1) A human coprolite is the sole evidence for human occupancy of Oregon ~ which seems so terribly appropriate!

BTW, anyone who thinks I'm simply ridiculing the Native Hawaiian claim settlement would be wrong. If they can get chunks of Hawaii, I can get chunks of the Lower 48!

After hearing about this last night on Fox New Special Report it occurred to me that this is the perfect setup for eventual “Sharia Law ruled” enclaves (states?) within the United States as they have in France (in France no one (not even the police) wants to go near these neighborhoods). Someone will probably claim that Muslims were in the new world long before the Spanish, the Dutch, the British or the French.

Its not about the problems, its about getting the land for free use! My suggestion would be to let them go and see how well they do after that; I am sure they would lose whatever is left after that.

Obama is working on that very thing now. Started with the 3,000 dollars he handed out in Detriot and progressed with the 1.26 reparations to the farmers, acorn, housing, etc and ad nauseum

They really need to leave this issue to the State of Hawaii to resolve for itself.

The United States Federal Government does not have the authority to redefine state borders, only states can do that for and to themselves.

If the people of Hawaii want to afford “special rights” and autonomy to their native population thats fine with me.

If they want to leave the union lock-stock and barrel thats also fine with me. It’s THEIR state not ours to screw around with.

The House of Representatives passed a bill Tuesday that would grant Native Hawaiians special rights as reparations for the 1893 peaceful overthrow of their Queen Liliuokalani which led to the eventual annexation of their island by the United States.

IMO, this might fail under the Fourteenth Amendment, specifically Section 1, which states that

"no State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

In other words, there can not be two co-equal governments with jurisdiction over the State of Hawaii ("The bill creates a new Hawaiian government that would negotiate with the U.S. over things like land rights and natural resources, and could cede large tracts of land that became U.S. government property when Hawaii became a state in 1959, back to Native Hawaiians") unless the Federal Government resurrects a sovereign Hawaii (i.e., "Kingdom of Hawaii") and cedes the territory of the present State of Hawaii to the Kingdom.

Whether THAT can be done is a different story, since the dissolution of the Federal Union is a no-no as generally accepted and as settled by the Civil War of the 1860s.
