She can’t keep it up indefinitely or a lot of her current support will go away.
Sarah Palin has to continue her support for McCain until the Arizona election runs its course. She can not withdraw her support for McCain, especially after McCain’s effective performance during the healthcare summit today. Can you imagine Sarah Palin pulling her support now. The spin would be that Sarah is less conservative than McCain.
People who hated Sarah prior to the endorsement still hate her, people who liked her still like her. This entire McCain Palin controversy has been trumped up in order to undermine Palin’s support and it has little effect on her true supporters. Sarah’s supporters examine her entire record and also consider situational context. I am not going to be turned against Palin over a circumstance, which I entirely understand.
It is also important to notice that almost every thread about Sarah Palin, regardless of the subject, turns into a thread about Palin’s evil endorsement of McCain. The people spamming the Palin posts with laments about her endorsement have an agenda, and it smells like mitt.
As far as I know her only sin was endorsing McCain, which despite it being a bit incongruous with her political philosophy, is also very understandable. I forgive her, and so do millions more. Ind I respectfully disagree with you regarding her support going away.
Now, if she were to endorse Patty Murray, Barbara Boxer, and Henry Waxman, well then, that would be a different story! Then I’d have to agree that a lot of her current support would indeed go away. But over this one shot item that she really had no choice over, no, it won’t happen. ;>)
