Morning Bell: Someone Needs to Tell the President His Health Care Plan is Dead

The day before yesterday’s White House health care summit, Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) told reporters: “The only way this works is for the House to pass the Senate bill and then, depending on what the package is, the reconciliation provision that moves first through the House and then comes here.”

When Conrad was reminded that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has repeatedly insisted that the House will not pass the Senate bill until the Senate passes a second bill that fixes the first, Conrad replied: “Fine, then it’s dead.”

“Someone Needs to Tell the President His Health Care Plan is Dead.”

“Please don’t tell the socialist usurper that this particular effort to destroy our country is dead. (1) I want him wasting his time on this rather than finding something almost as destructive that might pass. (2) I want the voters to see the amazing level of contempt that today’s Dem leaders feel for “ordinary” people.”

Yes, this is a good stragegy. I would guess this arrogant fool has fawning minions licking at his heels, keeping the ‘plan’ bright and within reach ever in his mind.

"How can you hope to reason with a man who excuses whatever he does with the childish retort, “because I’m the President”? "

As soon as he uttered those words, I said..."he has LOST the argument."

When a person has to resort to "pulling rank", they have lost the debate and gone to their only "out"...the bully option.

He may be on the books as "president", but he'll never be THE President.

But, I believe that he as done one, good thing for America...he has awakened her; he is showing that the minute we rest our vigilance, the moment we let ourselves lose sight of what it really takes to have FREEDOM, evil forces can move in very swiftly.

If we ever get him out office, think that far into the future we will be ever more vigilent for his brand of government and politics, and sound the National Alarm if it ever rears its ugly head again.

America cannot survive in a "far left" mode; far-left control means no Freedom, and we - as a people - don't take kindly to our freedoms being taken away...especially since our Constitution says it shall not be taken away.

I'm pretty sure obamacare is dead, but it's their shining jewel, and they'll get even sneakier, and play even dirtier to get it done.

They seem to be and unstoppable force, but they've first got to get it past the immoveable wall....us.

Conrad is an idiot. If the House passes the Senate bill, then hello - both houses have passed the bill so the senate bill will go to the president to be signed into law!

Do you really think the dumbcrats are going to try to pass a third reconciled bill when they have the senate bill passed in the house? No way, it will be a done deal.

That has always been the ONLY option. Wreckanciliation is just a threat, nothing more. Everything hinges on the house. If they don’t pass the senate bill, 0zer0care is dead!
