Desiree Rogers, the White House social secretary, is resigning her position just a few months after she was roundly criticized for a security lapse that led to uninvited guests crashing the president's first state dinner.
"It's been a tremendous experience and honor to serve this president and first lady in what is really a historic presidency for all Americans but particularly for African-Americans," she said in a brief telephone interview. "That is part of the reason I came out to do the job."
Ms. Rogers was a newcomer to politics as well as to Washington, and in her first year on the job, she became known for bringing an updated, stylish sensibility to White House events, and for bringing outsiders - schoolchildren, in particular - to what she and First Lady Michelle Obama called "the people's house."
But she also came under fire after uninvited guests made their way into the first Obama state dinner, and the White House upgraded its procedures afterward. At Congressional.....

I don’t understand - she was well connected with the Obamas. The State dinner non-invited guest hullabaloo has blown over and she must have loved her work in that she seated herself at the state dinner. So why leave your dream job especially when your boss doesn’t assert his performance goals on you?
The bigger part of this story is that it was established some time ago that the so-called crashers know the Obamas well and have attended many formal events with them before. There’s something else afoot here.

Ms Rogers was not qualified to do the work of White House social secretary as Obama is not qualified to perform the duties of the president.
She is doing the honorable thing and resigning. Obama should resign as well, except he has no honor, shame or integrity.
So give her a call and tell her you want to catch up on old times :-)
She was the one who arrogantly claimed the “Obama Brand” was the best in the world - maybe she decided not so much. She has money, so maybe she thought the fishbowl prestige was not worth it. (”Waah, waah, I want to go to the party, why should I have to stand here and check this stupid list?? Mommy? Daddy? Can anybody fix this for me right now??”)
