Not good enough, Dave

If Gov. Paterson thinks his withdrawal yesterday from this year's gubernato rial race is a proper substitute for out right resignation, he'd do well to think again.

As The Post reports today, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is now exploring, among other things, just how the woman at the center of this sordid scandal last month suddenly acquired a spanking-new 2010 RX350 Lexus -- a $40,000 ride.

And then, less than two weeks later, skipped a hearing in her domestic-abuse case against top Paterson aide David Johnson, ending the matter.

Except, obviously, it didn't end.

So this woman received an apparent bribe AFTER the thug in our White House told the NY governor to step aside, and in a shocking revelation that bribe is being made public? Why am I not convinced that the NY governor is connected with this?

It is because liberals have no problem with these sorts of things. The fact that people like Charlie Rangel and the late Jack Murtha were able to be elected over and over and over again is more of a reflection of a majority of voters in their districts than on the people themselves.

To put it another way, if Charles Rangel were to be removed from power, he'd just be replaced by another Charles Rangel.

“How he & Rangle can face the people is beyond my comprehension.”...

You and I would make bad criminals and we would never get any sleep.

These guys sleep like babies; they have no conscience.

They’re wide awake and refreshed the next day, ready to lie, cheat and steal all over again.

Look at the kind of people they are facing. Most of their constituants think bribery and corruption are fine, the rest of them think it's fine as long as you are not caught, a very small percentage think corruption in any form is wrong but they are a VERY small percentage.

Rangel is a dictator in Harlem, a kind of secular figure who inspires the masses to resist, but resist what? One of his big boosters over the years was the late Republican Jack French Kemp.

You elect people like Marion Barry to high positions and then they expect them to be competent. This man Patterson stated from the beginning he and his wife were swingers, what was expected?

I said the same thing yesterday. It smells more like the NYT is in cahoots with “Dead Fish” Emmanuel or Axelrod.

The NYT has been throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks for months. The Whitehouse has been working overtime on this one.

and there is Cuomo investigating the Governor.. he should step aside - how could he be impartial - he just got clear sailing for the Governorship. Once the White House Thug told Paterson to step aside, you know it was over with.

Ooooooh ... initial reports mentioned the phone call then the skipped appearance but conveniently left out the little matter of a new car in the driveway.

Poor Charlie Rangel ... at least Patterson can claim he didn't "see" the memo ... what can Charlie say?
