While this is technically true with regard to a reading of the 1st amendment if it is imposed upon the States it is no better a move then the move of courts in using the same amendment to usurp the same rights.

Many liberals are beginning to awaken to their long term benefits of allowing the Federal government to “protect” and impose such “rights”.

This is a Pyrrhic victory just like the court case. In the end the support for the doctrine of incorporation will cost us much more then a defeat here.

Leftist groups are right to side with the NRA on this, just as the NRA is wrong to take this position.

There is much more at stake here with regard to the doctrine of incorporation in gun rights or religious freedom in minority sections of the country.

Indeed we stand to lose all these things in the long run, if the Federal government is made to be the one that “protects” them.

I read the good judge's opinion and then sent the following email to the principal, the superintendent, and each of the board members:

Having just finished reading Judge Benitez's opinion in its entirety, wherein he exposes to the whole world your indefensible, inexcusable, antiChristian and unAmerican actions against Bradley Johnson, which as the judge shows you knew or should have known were grossly improper, I write now to ask you only this single question:

Have you already, or will you at the first possible opportunity, both individually and collectively apologize wholeheartedly and publicly first to Mr. Johnson and then to the entire community?
