GOP's Mitt Romney, a potential presidential candidate, unveils a book critical of Obama

BOSTON (Associated Press) -- Once and possibly future Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney says in a new book that President Barack Obama's international outreach efforts during his first year in office have been "kindling" to the "anti-American fires burning all across the globe."

In a wide-ranging policy book none-too-subtly titled "No Apology: The Case for American Greatness," Romney says the Democrat's efforts to reconcile with foreign powers, Muslims and others angered by President George W. Bush's administration have weakened the country's stature instead of enhancing it.

I'm not saying to anyone that Romney has to be your candidate, but rather simply stating why he is my candidate.

Team Mitt Romneycare and the MSM worked to attack Gov. Palin
and her children – to throw the election to Obama.

America will NEVER forget what Mitt RomneyCARE and the MSM did.

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++8 to 10 pts. in some polls, days prior to the election.
So rather than helping the GOP, poor loser “I am Myth” Romney and
TeamROMNEY decided …… to attack Gov. Palin (and her defenseless children) to throw Election2008.

"Frum was indeed a critic of Palin, calling her nomination a "huge mistake" during an October 13 (2008, weeks before the election) Early Show appearance."

David Frum: "Two of our most plausible candidates for president in 2012 are leading Mormons: Mitt Romney and Utah governor Jon Huntsman."

David Frum: "I have a lot of regard for Mitt Romney as a man and politician… I will support him without qualm."

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Kathleen Parker: "[I]t is increasingly clear that Palin is a problem." "Parker ... says something publicly that many of us have thought privately
but lacked the courage to say out loud - Palin should step down:"

"Kathleen Parker: After Interviews, Palin Should Bow Out"

Kathleen Parker: "Romney would bring more than squeaky clean qualifications
and youthful good looks to the ticket.
Romney would seem a logical choice."

"Parker: Romney raised bar on freedoms"
Kathleen Parker: "If Kennedy's speech was an important landmark in American political history,
Romney's was surpassing. With heartfelt humility and poetic eloquence,
he tracked the nation's struggle with and for freedom."

Staggering bigotry of Kathleen Parker - UPDATED"

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Poor sport spoiler Romney attacked other GOP candidates:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

You don't shrink when faced with adversity, and some pretty rude comments directed towards you. For that you're to be commended.
I think Romney's probably a nice guy, though a political hypocrite and opportunist. You see a man who has earnestly changed his outlook on matters.
America - Ya gotta love it!

Aside: It astounds me that no pundit or pol has spoken out on the eerie similarity of our nation today and as it was in the last decade of the 18 century. Thomas Jefferson, and the republicans, voiced very like protestations, of federal usurpation of power from the States and disregard for our Constitution, that we hear presently.

Another thing...on a laundry list of things that are negative for Mr. Romney.

IF, the RNC decides that it's Romney's "turn"....IMO, you will see a near historic cry against the RNC..and it's leadership.

If you want total chaos in the GOP in this country...then continue to support the old GOP guard.

I don't know who should run at this point...but I know it's not McCain, Romney, Pawlenty, Huckaby or Jeb Bush.

So...your saying he's worked for a business.

Great..me too. But that doesn't say he's got real business experience...Making payroll, hiring, firing...etc.

In fact...Mr. Romney has some experience at taking businesses down...Now isn't that right?

You know Romney’s scheme.

The workers lost their health insurance in Romney
taxovers, so then predator parasite Mitt RomneyCARE
imposed RomneyCARE (=ObamaCARE) so the taxpayers
would have to pay for the “rape” of the companies
which Romney took into his own pocket.

Romney and Obama should be indicted under RICO.

What a refreshing change it would be for some freeper to buy the book, read the whole thing, and actually talk about the ideas presented in the book in a factual and reasonable way, pro and con, rather than, well, rather than what you already see going on.

Actually Romney is not what most of us would call high on political experience. Romney has run for office a lot, and he has spent a vast fortune on trying to get people to vote for him but he only won one of those elections and then he did a lousy job in office, leaving with a dismal 34% approval rate.

“Romney’s 323-page tome is less personality-driven than Palin’s book”

That is good to hear. If Willard’s book was “personality-driven”, it would be 323 blank pages.
