The Academy should have been my first guess. They produce the very best or the very worst (can you say McCain) officers. Most ring-knockers stick around for more than the minimum to retire....it would be interesting to read his fitreps.

Ring knocker likes boys, we had one of those in our Battalion. Pretty funny, his own troops turned him in for dating boys in Olongapo. Seems his troops felt uncomfortable being lead by a boy chaser (not that there is anything wrong with that). Higher command had back at Regiment PDQ to save his “career”. If he had been a reserve officer he would have been dishonorably discharged. Funny about those rings.
