That is a pretty good size shaker and might do in buildings that are barely standing. I would imagine all those types of building are empty of people.

6.4 on already unstable buildings must make it seem to be happening all over again...

Dang ... a 6.4 all by itself is nothing to sneeze at.

As an aftershock to an 8.8 ... it just ain’t Chile’s week.

I guess that the mines have problem now:

5. Operations at Antofagasta flagship Los Pelambres mine resumed on Sunday after the quake temporarily disrupted power supplies and the company said it did not expect further disruption at the site. Its mines in the north were not affected.

Another, bigger aftershock (?) of the Chile EQ, same magnitude as the one yesterday in Taiwan.

bd, these “aftershocks” are as big as our Northridge main event...wow.

Different area, might be a new quake, not aftershock.

Is there a way to zoom in with this earthquake program? We love it, but haven’t figured it out yet.

And this doesn’t seem to be one of those situations where plate tension release is good.
