But I thought that they could not ammend the senate bill. They can just pass it or not. Right?

The Michigan Democrat held up House legislation last year until he was satisfied that its language prevented federal tax dollars from being used to fund abortions. That means changing the bill, which would gum up their plans.

This is the absolute best case scenario for the dims...lose HC to a bunch of "religious fanatics".
Keeps their base fired up...and keeps them from going over the cliff completely. Also covers the "incompetent" argument.
Still, I doubt they're SMART enough to take this opportunity.

If the house passes something other than the senate bill it has to go back to the senate. These anti abortion dems are as much against abortion as we are (I believe) and will hold it up. If they could pass the senate bill in the house they would have. If they get the votes in the house game over (do not think that will happen) the other way is for the house to passed a HC bill (the one Barry is writing)with abortion and the senate tries to use procedures to pass with 50 + 1.
I do not think it will happen.
