Princess Aiko unable to go to school after being bullied by boys
Friday 05th March, 05:34 AM JST
TOKYO
Princess Aiko, the only child of Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako, has been reluctant to attend school since Monday after being treated harshly by boys in her grade, an official of the Imperial Household Agency said Friday.
But an official of the school denied that the 8-year-old princess was directly subject to rowdy behavior of the boys, after the unusual announcement by Issei Nomura, the top aide to the crown prince and princess, about the princess absence citing problems in school.
Princess Aiko, a granddaughter of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko and a second grader at Gakushuin Primary School in Tokyos Shinjuku Ward, has been complaining of strong anxiety and stomachache, Nomura, grand master of the crown princes household, told a regular news conference.
The princess missed school in late February due chiefly to mild fever, and attended school Tuesday but left early and has since been absent, he said, adding there are no prospects for her to return to school.

Time was their fathers would have been beheaded for this.
The morning show on KLBJ has a similar bullying story on this morning.
The disorderly behavior of the boys included throwing bags, running fast down hallways and shouting around July last year, but calmed down by about November after the school allocated more teachers to deal with them, he said.
Well hell, man, just think!
The boys were running down hallways last July !!!!!!!!!
How much more egregious can you get?
Clearly, it is now March, so we worry that the Princess might still be affected and could only attend a half day today -—— oh the horror of it all.
*** I feel sorry for the mother and the daughter, but we, outside, can do nothing.
BTW, no Imperial Family full list has ever been published. There are many.
What’d the boys do, turn the teacup in the wrong direction during the tea ceremony?
Prince William and Harry are good examples of getting out of the palace and becoming regular guys, to the extent royalty can.
日本*ピング* (kono risuto ni hairitai ka detai wo shirasete kudasai : let me know if you want on or off this list)
I went to school with Prince Charles for a while. Some of what was done to him could have been called bullying, but he handled it well and earned people’s respect by the way he did it.
I actually despise genuine bullying and as a teacher I come down on it like a tonne of bricks - but so much gets called bullying in modern schools that really isn’t.
I can't imagine anyone daring to truly "bully" the princess, especially in Japan where every student must know who she is. "Rowdy" behaviour by 8 year old boys... oh, the HugeManatee for the uber stuffy Imperial Household Agency.
William was a bully when he was young. But he was disciplined where appropriate and taught respect where needed, and he grew out of it, and became a fine young man.
That’s what it takes.
When my daughter was being bullied and jumped from behind by 7 and 8 yr old boys... I enrolled her in Judo class. All it took was throwing them to the ground once. Of course the teachers put HER on the yellow line during recess! I told her if she had to stand on that line every day, no matter, she had to defend herself.
Wait till the guys with the big-ass (Japanese) “right wing” sound trucks get ahold of the business addresses of the parents of any young kids pushing Aiko-chama around. Yikes!
good parent!
Stupid Royalty. Japan should send them all to London.
The Crown Prince should do what my dad did when I got pushed around as a youngster in Yokohama. Take the kid to Judo school.
For pete's sake, prostitution has been illegal since 1956, and since then how many BILLIONS of yen have switched hands, from wallet into purse?
