I don't think he did. The bio:
Board Member, Otis Mathis, District 2, was raised in Southwest Detroit where he still resides with his wife Dawn (Pat). Member Mathis, his wife and his 6 children, are all graduates of Detroit Public Schools. He is a Vietnam - Era Veteran, has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University and has served as Wayne County Commissioner as well as a substitute teacher for Detroit Public Schools. Member Mathis was also Executive Director of the Detroit Veterans Center, director of a non-profit corporation, **and member of both the Detroit Federation of Teachers and AFL-CIO Local 231.
********

In Detroit, it is rather hard not to bring race into it. Look what happened to Columbus, Ohio when they elected a black democrat mayor.
Columbus was a thriving, beautiful city. Look at it now,
Look. It goes with the territory. Telling the truth is not racist. Everywhere you look in this country, this is what you see. There is no getting around it. Dinkins destroyed NYC.
Philly is a mess.
How could we forget Nagin in New Orleans?
Under the previous black mayor, Newark was a literal war zone.

Of all the cities on this chart, the only exceptions MIGHT be Atlanta and Richmond.

Which of these cities would YOU choose to live in?

Ed-Speak is the “Ebonics” of academia. When you hear “our highly trained education professionals” jibbering their jargon about such things as “learning strategies” and “IEPs” your know that you are in the presence of intellectual slum dwellers.

Frankly, I’d rather listen to someone speak “Ebonics” than Ed-Speak because the Ebonics speaker lacks pretention.

So, I’m not sure that DPS is so much worse off with Mathes at the helm than some “Dr.” with an “ed” degree.

Requirements for teaching in a public school under the Obama Administration: 1) Must advocate Social Justice 2) Celebrate Diversity 3) Accept Multiculturalism 4) Worship Mother Gaia 5) College degree not required

Quite so. The system now rewards those who can best manipulate it - in fact, it now puts them in charge of it. Our public education officials are not even trying to defend it anymore - they are the same as those who got ahead through political correctness. On the one hand, our public education system would better prepare our young people to be successful in life by teaching them ways to use the system to their advantage. This was until now the sole domain of our prisons (and certain community organizing groups like ACORN). President Obama is a perfect example of this phenomenon - a man who has succeeded only by allowing himself to be hoisted by a system that puts a value on his race and demeanor, not on his accomplishments or industry.

On the other hand, to do this would be to neglect teaching our kids anything of value or of use in building and defending our society and its success- that has now become the domain of homeschoolers and private schools. So we have two systems - one that prepares people to grow the economy and the other that teaches people how to sponge off it.

From Wikipedia: "From 1997 to 2003, Bobb served as city manager in Oakland, California under a unique hybrid system, which combined a strong mayor, Jerry Brown, with a full-time city manager."

Did you have to bring race into this?

Under the "post-racial" president Obama, very little else matters.

The muslims have very deftly seized on the black racist trends in America and are using them to build a literal black muslim army, connected to the Pakistani ISI - see the Gilani clan and Gilani's recruitment in the US prison population. Black muslims. Connect the dots - to Farrakhan, the WH, local administration and abroad to people like Mr. Odinga.
