Perhaps this was a cry out for relevancy - something she hasn't been since the Clinton administration, but comedienne Roseanne Barr is showing her social commentary knows no bounds.
In a March 4 post on her blog, Barr used the suicide of Marie Osmond's son, Michael Blosil, to go on a sick and twisted anti-religion screed. According to the former sitcom star, any underlying issues that led to Blosil taking his own life were a result of "his church and the people in it":
"marie osmonds poor gay son killed himself because he had been told how wrong and how sick he was every day of his life by his church and the people in it. Calling that ‘depression' is a lie!"

I say if a religious fundamentalist commits suicide (G-d forbid!) his family should sue a liberal.

Describes my life living with my stepmother and Dad. I had to be perfectly socially adept and a perfectly clean room and working 40 hours a week and paing my way to college or I was a failure. When I was twelve I was given pills to cut down on my high spirits and to prevent my eccentricities from being too pronounced.

Google “major depressive disorder homosexuality” . These two often go together.
Of course, gays say they are depressed because society hates them.
Before political correctness took hold, psychiatry used to recognize that depression, bipolar disorder, narcissistic and borderline personality disorders, to name a few, were associated with homosexuality. Which one caused the other or are they often just simply co-morbities?

You know, I’d bet that everyone who commits suicide has done at least one thing that they either knew was morally wrong or which they had been told was morally wrong according to a certain code.
So, I guess the answer for Mizz Barr is that there should be no moral codes, because moral codes make people feel bad when they cannot be perfect, and feeling bad leads to suicide.
I seem to remember someone named Paul explaining that the purpose of the law (a moral code) was precisely so that people could know that they were not perfect and could never be perfect. There’s more to that story, but I’ll leave it at that for now.
And particularly to blame the mother. I mean this is like b*tch slap time. I will make it a point to write any body that tries to put that POS on a show again. I may start writing on the ones that are showing her shows now. I have plenty of free time for the next few years.

IIRC, a study of self destructive behavior among homosexuals showed that it was worse, not better, in more “tolerant” communities. Nobody decent wishes the suicide of the dissolute (I will not even wish it upon Barr herself). But I wonder if we figured up the suicide rate among those in the same circumstances as this boy, then compared that to the suicide rate of gay boys in a libertine environment, which would stand out. I would bet a dozen pink donuts that the churched ones would see less suicide per capita.
The mothers of children with long histories of bipolar or major depressive disorders suffer untold misery and cry rivers of tears.
To be honest, I know one of these mothers and she and her family, after many painful years, realize that their child’s mental illness is simply terminal. There is always hope that he will respond to treatment, that he will go into remission, but if not, the march for him is somewhat inexorable and it will, somehow, sometime, end in early death.
I recently read “The Suicidal Mind,” and I understood more what my friend was telling me.
And yes, slap away. Hard. I’ll keep the light on for you.

I believe Marie Osmond is being included in the blame by Roseanne Barr for being one of the supposed bearers of bad news.
Being a highly visible public figure, or being the family of same, carries its own stresses. Not all suicides are the result of gayness, otherwise we would never see a suicide of a non-gay person.
It’s the devil that promises doom to the emotionally tormented. It is not God.
And, the devil is a liar.
