Romney always threatens -— and his agents deliver.

Threats, dirty tricks, probably much much worse.

Romney is reprehensible for this. Shame on him,
and shame on the GOP which will die forever if it picks him.

It still strikes me as amazing that McCain got the nomination last time.

It would be far worse if Romney got the nomination this time around.

I am, however, starting to sense a movement in the MSM media coverage towards urging Romney on conservatives as the “inevitable” candidate. They’re not going to go so far as to blatantly support him. They will just refrain from dragging him down while at the same time expending every effort they can to denigrate and destroy genuine conservatives.

It’s their optimum solution and it definitely worked with McCain. Destroy any serious rivals to their fall guy, and then destroy the fall guy once he gets the nomination.

We need to get Romney OUT. And we need to do it FAST.

One of Romney's supporters here, Peter Horry, had a novel idea.
He claimed that McCain and Romney lost Election2008 because of "the Hurricane".
Perhaps he might elaborate here for other FReepers.
Has anyone else heard that is why the GOP lost the election? The weather?

How about Team Romney's savage attacks on Gov. Palin over and over and over and over and over and over (still ongoing, aren't they?)

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++8 to 10 pts. in some polls, days prior to the election.
So rather than helping the GOP, poor loser “I am Myth” Romney and
TeamROMNEY decided …… to attack Gov. Palin (and her defenseless children) to throw Election2008.

"Frum was indeed a critic of Palin, calling her nomination a "huge mistake" during an October 13 (2008, weeks before the election) Early Show appearance."

David Frum: "Two of our most plausible candidates for president in 2012 are leading Mormons: Mitt Romney and Utah governor Jon Huntsman."

David Frum: "I have a lot of regard for Mitt Romney as a man and politician… I will support him without qualm."

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Misleading title....why haven't you got called out on that? Nowhere do I read Mittens praising Crist Keep it real

Romney also wouldn’t take sides in the Senate primary fight in Florida between Gov. Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio.

“I like both of those individuals. I haven’t decided whether to endorse one or the other or neither, but I hope whoever wins the primary is able carry on very effectively in the general election,” Romney said. “We need more Republican senators in Washington very badly right now.”

The likely 2012 GOP presidential candidate cautioned though that while he supports the idea of conservative challenges in GOP primaries, third party tea party-backed candidates in the general election could be disastrous.

“Divide and fail is the result,” Romney said of third party challenges. “That would hand over the country to [President] Barack Obama and [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi and [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid, and that would be very sad indeed.”

Sorry Mitt, it's YOU and other RINO's and the GOP that will usher in more leftist politicians just like you did in NY 19

Romney has been running for 2012 since the day he dropped out of the race in 2008

His henchmen have been working behind the scenes (like McCain's did-are still?) to destroy Palin and at the same time Conservatism in the USA

Give it up Romney, the TEA Party Movement isn't going to listen to you.

Or take the blame for the "it's my turn to run" GOP attitude. Dole, McCain,Romney huh-uh we're mad as hell and aren't going to take it any more!

The likely 2012 GOP presidential candidate ...

Not bloody likely. Why don't we have some primary elections first, before this flaming RINO commie pissant claims the nomination.

Whenever anyone mentions that the “Tea Parties should not go 3d Party”.....they are supporting Liberal RINOs GOP candidates for office.

No one who supports true conservatives for office never mentions that Tea Parties should not run 3d Party candidates. It is only those who want Liberal RINOs to run in the GOP.

We have to vote for RINO’s because there aren’t enough conservatives to actually win? Is that what he’s saying?

For a smart guy he really is pretty dumb.

Mr. Romney "Disses" Amateur Radio In Televised Town Meeting

"Mitt Romney...alienating America one group at a time." - AlaskaErik

Gov. Sarah Palin, Governor of the state of Alaska, proclaimed the week of July 28 through August 3, 2008 as: Amateur Radio Week

"Governor Orders POW/MIA Flags Flown for Former Prisoners of War Recognition Day"

"Office of the Governor of the State of Alaska ^ | 04-09-09 | Gov. Sarah Palin
April 9, 2009, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin today signed a proclamation declaring April 9, 2009,
as Former Prisoners of War Recognition Day. The governor has ordered POW/MIA flags
to be flown in honor and memory of American men and women
who have placed themselves in harm’s way and faced the horrors of combat."
“The price paid by POW/MIA soldiers in defense of liberty is worthy of our highest
gratitude and most solemn remembrance,” Governor Palin said.
“On this day and always, they are in our thoughts and prayers. We will never forget them or their service.”

"National Guard Lt. Anthony Circosta poses in his backyard in Agawam, Mass., on June 9, 2007.
At left, his wife Danielle and daughter Kylie, 2, talk near the swing set. Circosta,
a decorated Iraq War veteran, seemed like an ideal candidate for a pardon from
then-Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the 29-year-old's boyhood conviction
for a BB gun shooting. Romney denied the pardon,
twice, despite the recommendation of the Governor's Council.

Great Jehosephat, Romney is SUCH a mealy-mouthed coward. Look up "weenie" in the illustrated dictionary and his picture comes up. WHAT HE'S DOING IS THE OPPOSITE OF LEADERSHIP.

If Hillary Clinton switched parties to Republican and ran for office, Romney would not only be telling us he was going to wait and see if he'd endorse her in the primary, but that she'd be valuable in Washington if she won.

It’s so funny to see people attack Romney for following Palin’s example.

Palin endorses McCain, then Romney endorses McCain. People can’t attack Palin, so they attack Romney.

Palin says 3rd parties are bad, Romney agrees with her, people attack Romney because they can’t attack Palin.

For the record, I agree that in most cases, running a 3rd party candidate will guarantee a democrat wins. That’s what happened in the 23rd.

Sometimes, that is a better outcome than electing the republican. I think that’s the case in the 23rd. Other times it would be a nightmare. Imagine if conservatives had run a “real conservative” against Brown and Coakley in Mass.

I could care less what Romney’s view, or Palin’s view is, on this. 3rd parties will cause us to lose elections, and the only decision to make is whether in a particular case that would be better than winning.

Primaries on the other hand are a great place to run Conservatives.
