She was no Leni Reifentstahl (who was honored a few years back), that’s for sure.

Waddya mean she was mostly a TV actress? Don’t you remember her from the 1976 classic “Logan’s Run?” Now, there’s a movie that should have won an Oscar! /s/

we’re sorry for it.”

Davis, who also says he stands by the decision

Then what exactly is he sorry for? He’s sorry people were hurt by his decision but he’d do it again? I wonder if that word means what he thinks it does.

They have time for lame jokes between Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, and lame dance routines, but not a few extra seconds to honor the memory of movie folk who’ve died in the preceding year. And every dead grip and gaffer should get his due too, not just the well-known.

There's nothing you can say to people, particularly to family members, within a day or two of the show that helps at all.

BS

How about "Please accept this letter of resignation...." ????

The Oscars continue to prove how increasingly out of touch and irrelevant they have become. Haven't watched it in years, have no intention of ever watching another Oscar ceremony again.

Farah Fawcett was a major star. This was clearly political discrimination. She was a devout Christian.

Here’s an excerpt from an ABC News piece last June:

According to ABC News reports, a Catholic priest has given actress Farrah Fawcett her Last Rites. Fawcett’s health is worsening and has sadly taken a very serious turn, resulting in the summoning of a Catholic priest to give her the Last Rites.

ABC reports that Farrah Fawcett is a devout Catholic Christian. A close friend has described her being “fearless” at the moment thanks to her faith. The Catholic priest reportly administered her the Last Rites in a Los Angeles Hospital. As Fawcett clings to life, members of her inner circle, Dr. Lawrence Piro and longtime boyfriend Ryan O’Neal are gathered at her hospital bedside.

Online media reports also reveal that Allen Miller, Farrah Fawcett’s publicist updated his Twitter about her worsening health and about receiving last rites. “It was just related to me, that our Farrah just given last rites. She is not in any pain. For those who believe make contact with God now,” wrote Allen.

They can bore us with memorials to Hollywood insiders no one living east of the five has heard of but can't find room for actors we remember like Fawcett and Barry.

And they wonder why their numbers dwindle.

I remember the day it was announced; on talk radio, etc. it was “Farrah Fawcett has died” and for a couple hours people remember her, but then...

Michael Jackson dead!
Michael Jackson dead!
I remember hearing on a talk show the word that he had been rushed to a hospital; soon some rumors had it he was dead and then it was confirmed. From then on, talk and news stations
were all over it. Music stations went nuts on his music. Etc.
Anyway, her death was soon overshadowed by the passing of the Gloved One...so, they forgot.

Wonder if they mentioned Edward Woodward. He never won an Oscar but I think he won a British Versions of the Oscar and at least one for the Australian version of the Oscar for Breaker Morant.

Davis, who also says he stands by the decision about Fawcett's absence, had considered including her, but ultimately felt her "remarkable television work" would be more appropriately honored at the TV Academy's Emmys...

Pompous moron. I loved her in The Apostle.
