Deutsch Praises Beck for Massa Interview: 'Beck Actually Helped His Brand A Lot'

Compliments sometimes come from strange places, but you'll take them where you can get them, no?

It seems that Fox News' March 10 "Glenn Beck" program, in which host Glenn Beck interviewed former Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., captured the attention of both the left and the right. And it may have even put to rest some of the misconceptions about Beck, which are mostly generated by outfits that operate with just out-of-context sound bites.

"Let me tell you something," "Morning Joe" co-host Joe Scarborough said on his March 11 program. "[Beck] was not on his heels. He just - he played straight-man and Donny Deutsch, he was - he did it very, very well.

I actually thought the interview was weird and wished Beck had grilled him just a little bit. I kept waiting for SOMETHING that never came.

Looks like everybody’s in agreement. Massa tried to pull a bait-and-switch with Glenn. He came in promising scandalous revelations and ended up revealing nothing at all, beyond playing the martyr.

Beck wasn’t having any, though he did give Massa enough rope to hang himself.

As opposed to Larry King, who I gather let Massa intimidate him.

It’s all too obvious that Massa buggered out fast before the ethics investigation started to turn up some juicy stuff on him. Considering what his old Navy shipmates are saying, he’s a perfect example of yet another sociopath who gravitated to public office.

It occurred to me about 30 min. in that Massa had nothing to say. If I were “being run out of Congress” I would have dates, times, places, names, witnesses, chapter, verse, and title. 30 min. in the guy had said nothing. I turned him off and I haven’t missed a minute of Beck since he started on Fox.

“Beck wasn’t having any.” What? Massa ran Beck like it was his show. He dodged what few tough questions Beck asked. Glenn might be a great monologist, but as an interviewer...not so much.

Glenn did a great job. What was he going to do hit him for not answering the way Glenn wanted him to? He pressed him hard then sat back and let Massa hang himself. He repeated that process about four times at least. Massa so exposed himself as a duplicitous weasel that no other interviews are necessary.

'Beck Actually Helped His Brand A Lot'

Beck actually proved democrats, no matter how corrupt and/or fearful of losing their jobs due to their own party kicking them out, is capable of honesty in any form. Massa could have told us what he told Beck on the phone, but instead clammed up about when given the opportunity to tell Americans what slimeballs democrats and republicans are behind closed doors. We've come to expect that from them. This interview adds fuel to the growing fire of voting all these corrupt bums out of office as soon as possible.

Oh. I guess that’s why Beck himself called it a waste of time.

It was hardly a waste of time. We all got to see that Massa is a lying fool. He showed us the typical Dem polidiot who thinks that he can call himself a Progressive (communist) and in the same breath call himself fiscally conservative. He showed us just how stupid politicians think the people are. It was an excellent lesson in how phony politician’s apologies, confessions and 11th hour conversions are. Shame on us if we forget it.

So what did we learn that we didn’t already know? I guess somebody better tell GB he was wrong about it being a waste of time.

Well, “we” ain’t the whole country. Glenn hyperbolizes a lot. Especially in a self deprecating way.

The "we" who watch Beck already know everything that might have been exposed in the "interview."

I agree with Glenn. Waste of time. 100%.

Frankly, it was painful to watch. Read the live thread and see how many FReepers agree that it was pathetic.

I don’t care what they think. I’ve read plenty of posts, like those on this thread, that agree with me that it was not at all a waste of time. It wasn’t.

I’ve been following this thing but haven’t commented much, because it’s just weird.

So, a politician has skeletons in his closet. Many do, especially Democrats. As best I can tell, though, this guy was something of an obstruction on healthcare, so his presence was not an entirely negative thing, as far as that goes.

In light of an at-that-time vague allegation, he announces retirement, which would mean serving out the remainder of his term. But, then, the sordid tales start to trickle out and he announces his resignation. Then, the trickle of sordid tales turns to a torrent.

Democrats apparently need this Massa perv utterly and totally discredited. They usually rally around such tawdry beings, but not him. What I don’t get is the shrill denunciations of “LIAR!!!: coming from across the aisle, and shrill it is, even on this small FR thread, and numerous others. The most adamant seem to be the usual suspects as far as establishment support, McCain et. al, usually derided as RINO.

This leads me to wonder what Massa knows or what tales he can tell about a Republican or two, quite honestly. Cynical, I realize. Politics just lends itself to that.

I DVR Beck every day, but after watching a few news programs and such on Fox, I too decided the Massa interview was not worth the effort. Then Beck said he was sorry he had wasted our time, so I decided not to waste mine.

But the Beck shows tonite and tomorrow sound really good.
