Arms crossed defensively and her face fixed in a frown, Carla Bruni cut a sombre figure in Paris yesterday. France's first lady had plenty to think about amid growing talk that both she and her husband Nicolas Sarkozy are having affairs. The 43-year-old had been left behind in the capital while the French president made an official visit to London. He appeared delighted to be away from the rumour mill and seemed almost ecstatic on meeting Gordon Brown in Downing Street.
The 55-year-old is said to be romancing his ecology minister Chantal Jouanno, a karate champion who is his junior by 15 years.
Miss Bruni is said to be involved with musician Benjamin Biolay, 37.
The allegations, which surfaced on the internet, are roundly denied.

A blue belt? I've heard of white belt, brown belt, and black belt, but that's a new one on me. OK, I looked it up, and found this at Wiki: "Japanese practitioners and purists tend to look down on the use of blue jūdōgi." It's been several dogs' ages since I did judo, but my instructor was Japanese, so I guess he was a purist.

I have a blue belt in karate — I stopped when the sparring started and after I had broken my toe in some move or other. It is two belts below a black belt, in our dojo.

Very good. I guess it’s either a later development or something my Japanese instructor didn’t talk about.

The Brits in the comment section beneath the pictures in the article, do not seem impressed by Sarkozy. Blew my mind to see those “high heels” he wears.

Looks quite a bit like the L-Word actress Leisha Hailey.
A short cute BMW commercial she did for comparison.

It seems more and more likely that whole "affair" thing was a Twitter prank that got out of hand.
Sarko and Carla, smiling and hand in hand, voting early this morning in the French Regional Elections.
