One of President Obama's most senior aides has described Israel's sudden announcement of plans to build 1,600 homes in occupied East Jerusalem as an "affront" to the US which could undermine peace efforts in the Middle East.
Yesterday, David Axelrod said the move, which overshadowed a visit to Israel by the US vice-president, Joe Biden, was "very destructive".
"This was an affront, it was an insult but most importantly it undermined this very fragile effort to bring peace to that region," he said on NBC's Meet the Press. "For this announcement to come at that time was very destructive."
Axelrod, one of the architects of Obama's election, is not the first US official to have criticised the decision but he is one of the president's closest advisers. His remarks came after the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, sought to downplay the row with Washington.

Why don’t I feel insulted??
Israel is a Sovereign State. It does not say in their constitution that they haveb to kiss Obama’s behind Hillary’s behind or Joe Bidens behind.
Israel has agreed many time to cater to the Palestinians and each time they have been slapped in the face for it.
Hillary’s own husband could not make a deal. each time the US has been stabbed in the back by palestinians and still these 3 havent gotten the message.
Israel isnt as stupid as Hillary Joe Biden of Bracko Bama.

Americans call Obama’s and the Democrat’s “leadership” an insult to the Constitution.
Americans call Obama’s and the Democrat’s treatment of Israel an “insult”.
I think these statements ring true.
Wasn’t it NObama who said the USA should not meddle in other country’s affairs?
Just for that they should double it to 3,200.
There is no country on earth that would put up with another country telling them where their people can live.
Why should the Israeli’s put up with this outrage by Obamao.

Face it, there’s no country on Earth other than Israel which would tolerate the “palestinians” for five seconds. One obvious difference between barbarians and savages is that there’s no way in hell to picture Attila or Genghis Khan ever using Hun or Mongol women and/or kids as human shields. The palestinians would be lucky to advance themselves to any sort of state you could call barbarism within four centuries starting from now.
That only applies to anti-American dictatorships.
An insult to the US? It’s none of the US’s business. It’s Israel’s business.
An insult to the Ayatollah Obama? Everything about Western Civilization insults the muslims, so what?
