Congress has tried ye ole bait-and-switch before:

In 2007, Reid tried to use an old version of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform act to vote on, with the understanding that a new version would replace it [and not have to be voted on], once the new version was written.

Senators said ‘no way’. They wanted to vote on the real bill, not a substitute stack of paper.

==

[Reid, Durbin and a couple other senators had previous slipped in a bunch of new amendments just before one version was to be voted on. None of the other senators had read those amendments. That version lost the votes to pass.]

Any federal version of health care on its face is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care.

Except that precedent has already been established with such programs as Social Security and Medicare.

Don't look for the SC to declare it unconstitutional. They may strike down a few provisions at a time, but if it passes Congress, it will be law. [Look at how long it has taken the Courts to whittle away a few parts of Campaign Finance Reform.]

Will the liberal MSM cover this biggest coup d’etat ever?

Are you kidding? Last evening on ABC network news they did a piece on the democ'Rats upcoming health care vote finishing it off with a sob Miami hospital story where indigent & probably at least a few illegals were complaining about not being able to get the medical care they needed (or not being able to pay for it). It goes back to the valid argument ... health care works for 85% of Americans ... the liberal media focuses on the 15% fringe element.

“It’s been a shell game from the beginning!!!”

I agree....the democrat criminals never intended to let this thing go without the “public option”. They envision full-blown single-payer and this is the camel’s nose under the tent.

“House Rules strips content and inserts Senate Bill”

This is the bill that will modify the senate bill once the senate bill becames law. The senate bill will be deemed passed via Slaugher option and Bambi will sign it. This bill on the other hand will have to be voted on in the senate via reconciliation (51 votes).

I’m not saying public option will or won’t be in what the committee propounds - just that the bill language that is now in public circulation is NOT the bill that will be put before the House.

Right. This bill will be modified as it goes through committee, like any other bill.

OFCS! Are we going to stand for this process?

I’m serious. Not another rant. Are we going to DO anything or just sit here and take this? Don’t rely on the SCOTUS to undo this. They’re totally unpredictable.

I think the time to act has come. It’s time to organize and we have to remove those people from the capital, physically, by disrupting and shutting down the House chamber, then let’s get it on.

-- Right. This bill will be modified as it goes through committee, like any other bill. --

"Modified" is an understatement.

HR 3590 was "modified" by the Senate with a substitute amendment. "Before" and "After" modification were completely different.

This is all a joke and sham anyways to fool the idiotic members of the blue dog democrats into supporting the Senate Health Care bill. As soon as it’s voted on, Obama will sign it and they could care less of the reconcilliation bill ever sees the light of day. It gives the blue dogs an excuse come election time. Well, I voted on the first bill but the changes never got through. The reconcilliation bill would have fixed everything but it was stopped by those evil republicans...

So what? You going to threaten them with ALL CAPS!? LOL. what a joke we've all become.

They've been isolating us from our neighbors for decades. Nobody came to the aid on principle of the Branch Davidians, or the Bonus Marchers for that matter.

If the Alamo were to happen today, the press would turn it into a bunch of "religious zealots" and "gun nuts" with a "stockpile of unregistered weapons" bought with a "loophole" and probably "child molesters" and "polygamists" to boot.

There will be no heroes. Only villians. The last people to forcibly attack Congress were sent into a Pennsylvania field, remember?

Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

Congressional Dems on Twitter
http://www.arrghpaine.com/congressional-dems-on-twitter

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.
At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!

Do you really think there aren’t enough willing people among them to stop this by occupying and disrupting the House chamber?
