Virginia GOP Gov. Bob McDonnell tried to make clear Monday that he does not agree with a suggestion by close ally, state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, that President Barack Obama was not born in United States.
Cuccinelli also distanced himself from his earlier words Monday, saying he was speaking hypothetically.
The liberal Virginia blogger Not Larry Sabato on Monday posted an audio clip of Cuccinelli saying it was possible that he might challenge a federal law as illegitimate because someone qualified to be President didnt sign it.

geezus where did we find such nancy-boys to be in charge
Ken Cuccinelli for President.
Nothing in the article supports the title. There is nothing to indicate McDonnell “distancing” himself from Ken Cuccinelli.
Weird how the headline writer with an agenda can make an article say something the text does not. Must be newspeak journalism.
The text of the article does support the title.
Virginia GOP Gov. Bob McDonnell tried to make clear Monday that he does not agree with a suggestion by close ally, state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, that President Barack Obama was not born in United States....
Asked by POLITICO for a response to Cuccinellis comments, McDonnells spokeswoman Stacy Johnson originally said that All questions should be directed to the Office of the Attorney General.
Pressed on the close tie the two politicians have shared, Johnson responded: The President was born in the United States. This is a non-issue and we will have no further comment.
In a statement Monday, Cuccinelli said: I absolutely believe that President Obama was born in the United States. I dont buy into the claims that he wasnt. On the recording, I was asked a hypothetical legal question, and I gave a hypothetical legal answer in response.
Hey, a funny; a bunch of Leftwingtards praying ~ can you imagine that?
In the future we will toy with their future.
Good thing the first 2 responders read that far. This is why we keep kicking decent members from our caucus. We let the other side tell us who is conservative, and we buy it.
That has to be of one the poorest written headlines ever.
Neither one of them is going to make the kook claim that Obama was born in Kenya, when there is no evidence of that.
On the other hand, requiring Obama and other Presidential candidates to ID themselves by providing their birth certificate is probably something that they would both agree on.
So, no distance.
I absolutely believe that President Obama was born in the United States. I dont buy into the claims that he wasnt.”
There’s that word BELIEVE again. Prove it.
Considering these people are all lawyers they don’t seem to give a rat’s ass about the law, especially the Constitution.
Folks, we've gotta' get smart. It is not Conservative to do the knee-jerk thing when the target is a well known Conservative Republican church-going family man.
Better that you do that sort of thing when your target is someone like Nancy Pelosi. You'll never go wrong criticizing her. If she says "Hey, isn't that Jesus coming this way on His long prophesied Return", ignore her. She wouldn't know Jesus if He gobsmacked her. And Hell's own demons are not all that good at understanding prophesy.
Fair enough.

This morning, audio surfaced of Cuccinelli telling a supporter how to successfully take Obama to court on the issue, but Cuccinelli now says he’s confident Obama is a citizen.
“I absolutely believe that President Obama was born in the United States,” he said in a statement. I don’t buy into the claims that he wasn’t. On the recording, I was asked a hypothetical legal question, and I gave a hypothetical legal answer in response...As I said previously, this issue was not a part of my campaign, and it is not part of what I am doing now as attorney general.”
ping...
My God... talk about making something out of nothing.
I guess that’s why it’s always a good idea for politicians to avoid hypothetical questions. Their hypothetical answers will be what gets the coverage.
It would be better all the way around if conservatives focused on winning issues. Obama’s birth ain’t one of ‘em, IMHO.
I’ve got my birth certificate and can show it anytime required. Why can’t he and put away this issue once and for all. Why he can make a fool out of those who deny he was born in US.
