It was in the Herald - I guess the newsreader on the morning radio news didn’t mention it?
I don’t know how valid the comment was, but the local newspaper said that the perp managed to wrest the gun from granny but was unable to use it before the Wal-Mart employees subdued him.
The Herald article also said that SVPD was on scene within about a minute of the call. That’s not surprising, since there is almost always a cruiser in that area of town.
But, it was in the Herald on Sunday morning, I believe...
On line or paper copy? I didn’t see it on line
Paper copy. That may explain the discrepancy...
His utterance constitutes a hate crime. They should add an enhancement onto his sentance....bet they don’t. Good for her:-)
Thx. Found it.

i have heard that glock can be holstered in such a way as to allow it to automatically chamber the round as it is pulled from the holster. i would think that is dangerous but it could speed up the process.
One thing about Sierra Vista, there are law enforcement everywhere here.
Don’t even add on the DPS, DHS, Customs and Border Protection, FBI, etc., etc., etc.
Keeper!!
Frankly, I think it’s better. You can expect an ol’ Nam vet not to take crap, but a little old lady pulling out and USING her gun in self-defense?!
Well now, think about it...Tombstone, AZ is just a few miles down the road from here.
We have certain traditions to uphold, don't ya' know?

Did you see the comments after this story?
My mother is 81. I’d like to send her down to Tucson to beat some sense into “Ed” with her cane.
Hey, it’s a wonderful vacation destination!
The sun is very warm today, but the wind is biting. Long sleeves are definitely called for; a windbreaker may become necessary.
Not to worry, it’s all for sale at the shops along Allen St.
Poor ol’ Ed - he’s a liberal and jus’ cain’t he’p it...
LOL, point well taken...
Yeah, too bad she didn't shoot him but she's got the right attitude.
That's right and it's hard to simulate being 82 years old too unless you've already been there.
