I remember those shows. When I was a youngster, I used to sit with my Dad and watch them. Mom didn’t understand that a girl would go for shows like that, but I did. Years later I found Rifleman and Bonanza on TV Land and I would still watch them from time to time (I think TV Land retired Rifleman, but Bonanza is still around).

Thanks for the ping. Fess Parker went to Texas A&M where he majored in drama. He was a big man, so the football players wanted him to play football and bugged him about majoring in drama. One of them was a friend of mine who slapped himself upside the head when he heard that Fess Parker had a million dollar contract to play Davy Crockett.

You’re a magician. Where did you find a picture of Rip Masters? Wow! Be still my heart.

P.S.: You had good taste at 5. Mine went steadily downhill as I got older.

RIP

My grandma died today but everyone is talking about this guy.

They showed old stuff like Davy Crockett on the Disney Channel when I was a kid.

My favorites were Zorro and Leslie Nielsen as the Swamp Fox.

Fess Parker....God, he was HOT in his day! :P

___________

Well I'm a guy, and I hear you on that from your perspective (I assune you are a woman.).

But, being a guy born in '47, I thought Richard Boone as Paladin was totally cool.

“The Great Locomotive” chase was one of my favorite books and movies growing up. I wonder if it’s available on DVD.

Well, you can order it off of Netflix so I would imagine that somewhere you can buy it on DVD.

You assume correctly! :)

Paladin was ok,I guess...I don’t remember a lot about Richard Boone (I was born in 1957),but I know my older brother and my parents liked him and his movies. I liked John Wayne more than anyone.John was THE MAN.
