The right way to mend immigration (GRAHAMNESTY SHILLS FOR AMNESTY!) (HUGE BARF ALERT)
The Washington Post ^ | 2010-03-19 | U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer & Lindsey Graham

Posted on 03/18/2010 11:19:02 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Our immigration system is badly broken. Although our borders have become far more secure in recent years, too many people seeking illegal entry get through. We have no way to track whether the millions who enter the United States on valid visas each year leave when they are supposed to. And employers are burdened by a complicated system for verifying workers' immigration status.

Last week we met with President Obama to discuss our draft framework for action on immigration. We expressed our belief that America's security and economic well-being depend on enacting sensible immigration policies.

The answer is simple: Americans overwhelmingly oppose illegal immigration and support legal immigration. Throughout our history, immigrants have contributed to making this country more vibrant and economically dynamic. Once it is clear that in 20 years our nation will not again confront the specter of another 11 million people coming here illegally, Americans will embrace more welcoming immigration policies.

Our plan has four pillars: requiring biometric Social Security cards to ensure that illegal workers cannot get jobs; fulfilling and strengthening our commitments on border security and interior enforcement; creating a process for admitting temporary workers; and implementing a tough but fair path to legalization for those already here.

Hmmmm. Strange. A feeling of deja vu came over me just now. I swear it was 1986 just a minute ago.

"Although our borders have become far more secure in recent years..."

Nonsense.

"We have no way to track whether the millions who enter the United States on valid visas each year leave when they are supposed to."

Reinstate alien registration.

"employers are burdened by a complicated system for verifying workers' immigration status."

It's not that complicated.

"We would bolster recent efforts to secure our borders"

Secure the borders first.

"For the 11 million immigrants already in this country illegally, we would provide a tough but fair path forward."

The actual number is larger than that. In any case, a country with 20% under- or unemployment cannot afford open borders.

[. . .implementing a tough but fair path to legalization for those already here.]

Last time the Senate debated the A-word the population erupted in fury and chased the weasels under their desks. Bush got the message and started rounding up illegals and shipping them back. Graham and that little crook from New York should focus on fully funding and enforcing existing immigration and naturalization law. When the U.S.-Mexican Border is at least as secure as the Tel Av iv side of the West Bank Security Fence then maybe they can float some new ideas. Otherwise the citizenry will slap them down again.

Unfortunately South Carolina has no recall law. Although Lindsey certainly deserves to be.

We’re stuck with him ‘till 2014.

DIDN’T SOMEBODY FORGET THE NUMBER ONE PILLAR?? DEPORT THE ILLEGALS!!!!

BTW, are those “biometric social security cards” ONLY for THE ILLEGALS/ALIENS or do they actually think that *ALL* OF US IN AMERICA ARE GOING TO SUBMIT TO THIS FASCISTIC CRAP??

=NO= NATIONAL I.D. CARDS!!! PERIOD.

Here’s a thought... Why not bring home our troops and station them at the borders, to solve this illegal infiltration problem? And why not hire some Israelis to teach our boys how to safeguard a border? And while we’re at it with our “home improvement projects,” why not ship all the current ILLEGALS who are in U.S. prison or jail back to Mexico or wherever they came from, and let their OWN COUNTRIES deal with them?

This is not the USSA, Grahamnesty!

Gee, unemployment must be close to zero in South Carolina and New York. Otherwise, the senators from those states wouldn’t dare attempt to bring in more people to compete for jobs, right? Right?

“”Although our borders have become far more secure in recent years...”

LOL! I can’t breathe ;-)

“”We have no way to track whether the millions who enter the United States on valid visas each year leave when they are supposed to.”

Funny, you did just fine at it 50 years ago.

“”employers are burdened by a complicated system for verifying workers’ immigration status.”

It takes 10-20 minutes.......Oh the pain...the pain....!!

“”We would bolster recent efforts to secure our borders”

You will do NOTHING.

“”For the 11 million immigrants already in this country illegally, we would provide a tough but fair path forward.”

Fair to WHOM? Not to American workers who are unemployed.

And it is 20-25 million.

If you can’t go to DC, then go to their local offices, or hold street corner rallies in front of a nursing home, or SS office. Be sure to put your signs on sticks you can then rest on, hands will cramp. Take photos, call media, talk radio, program them into your phones. Take a supply of magic markers, and a bull horn if you have access to one. Hit the Medicare cut & gut theme..nothing like mad grannies and gramps. VA Cuts, taxes on special needs kids...35 new taxes.

Pass it on! There is $500 BILLION in Cuts to Medicare, SS, Huge fees for Tricare for Life, the over 65 retired Military’s health ins. 8% cuts to Medicare benefits, 15% cuts to nursing homes, cuts to in home nursing care of Medicare patients. 35 NEW taxes to be collected for 4 years BEFORE the health care promised goes into effect! Even a tax on Special Needs Kids, like Jerry’s Kids.

Call all your Reps today.........raise as much noise about the Medicare cut & Gut to give illegals FREE health care and our jobs as you can...it’s CRUNCH TIME to save the soul of America. He’s now promising LaRaza free health care for illegals and more jobs.

Obama spent last week campaigning for health care reform, at one point getting some college-age fans worked up about all the free stuff — “free” preventive care and “free” checkups and so forth — they would receive if his version of health care reform passed.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!
