PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The Boy Scouts of America has long kept an extensive archive of secret documents that chronicle the sexual abuse of young boys by Scout leaders over the years.
The "perversion files," a nickname the Boy Scouts are said to have used for the documents, have rarely been seen by the public, but that could all change in the coming weeks in an Oregon courtroom.
The lawyer for a man who was molested in the 1980s by a Scout leader has obtained about 1,000 Boy Scouts sex files and is expected to release some of them at a trial that began Wednesday. The lawyer says the files show how the Boy Scouts have covered up abuse for decades.

You can bet that the focus will be on the Scouts and not the perverts. I wonder if the scorn they would have earned from the press for vigrously prosecuting the perverts would have been greater than the praise for openly admitting there were problems. Still, it doesn’t look good for them.
like anywhere there is a pile of money you will find thieves (Congress being just one example), anywhere there is a group of children you will find perverts. They would seem to favor churches and, as it now appears, Scouts.
So I suppose the obvious thing would be to hire gays then, because we know that gays don't molest young boys only heterosexual men do that/SAR
These people are so transparent, I don't know how they get away with any of their BS, except that the average person must have the IQ of a mosquito.
In an outfit that size it would be surprising if there weren’t any monkey business. But what the heck was “covered up”? Is it being claimed the Scouts let the gay scoutmasters, once discovered and verified, go back to their troops or other troops, the way pedophile clergy sometimes have been?
Yeah, this one looks like it will turn back on the gays.
A snafu with a gay named... Dykes. Irony is ironic isn’t it. The message apparently didn’t get back to the Scouts that he had been ordered by a judge to stay away from children.
“Dykes was arrested in 1983 and pleaded guilty to attempted sexual abuse, received probation...”
I’d say that was a major contributor right there.
Exactly, but pro normalizing homosexual behaviour advocates will say “they weren’t gay, they were child molestors” no matter that those same people will then attack the BSA in the media for..not allowing openly gay Scoutmasters...
Historically, the vast majority of men attracted to other males have been attracted to boys or adolescents. The modern notion of two adult males going at it is quite unusual historically, and at most times and in most places would be considered odd if not perverted.
For that matter, historically the notion of dividing people into discrete groups of “straight” and “gay” as person-defining characteristics would also be considered quite strange. The notion isn’t much more than 100 years old.
It's not the dykes we are worried about. That would be the Girl Scouts.
This is why the Scouts do not allow gay Scoutmasters. Each of these incidents (if they in fact occurred) are not just child molestation - they are gay incidents. This is going to backfire on the gay community. I hope the Scouts are a smart enough organization to use this as evidence for not allowing gay Scoutmasters.
This is right out of the liberal playbook. Force the Boy Scouts (a hated organization that believes in God and Country) to accept homosexuals as scout leaders; then prosecute them for the acts of those homosexuals.
These people have no shame!
“The Boy Scouts of America has long kept an extensive archive of secret documents that chronicle the sexual abuse of young boys by Scout leaders over the years.”
And yet we are called homophobic for not wanting our young men in an organization run by queers.

They may not have gone to the newspapers with their stories, but they always took action and removed abusers.
I know because I grew up in Scouting.
