The liberal cities are very opposed to Wal-mart. Wal-mart will remain non-union. They have their own fleet of trucks and driver which is also something that makes the unions angry.

Protip: if the package says, “MADE IN CHINA,” don’t buy it.

How do you know where the ingredients come from?

Oh, I don’t know . . . maybe if I buy products from reputable companies that understand they will be sued into oblivion if something happens?

If my Tabasco sauce was not made in Peking, like God said it should be, then I don’t pay the 98 cents that Wal-Mart charges instead of the $2.28 that Albertsons does.

I don't know if people know that was a joke, one of the great price breaks at Walmart is that 98 cent bottle of original Tabasco sauce that costs $2.28 at Albertsons, Wal-Mart has a lot of everyday prices like that.

This cracks me up ! After years of being barred by the political thug and union machine from Chicago, now that the state and city are bankrupt, there’s recently been an active softening to let them in ... jobs, ya know .. and for the chillun .. LOL. Aaah .. thug politics are hysterical.

200 Chicago Ministers Back South Side Wal-Mart

I’ve been following the South Side Chicago Wal-Mart controversy since last summer, summarized very well here in this editorial:

“If there’s ever an illustration of how “progressive” elites and organized labor are keeping the very people they supposedly care about locked up on the plantation, it’s their consuming opposition to a new Wal-Mart store on the South Side (of Chicago).

The impoverished, unemployed, blacks, seniors, teens—they’ve all been getting a good frigging by the organized campaign by white liberals and powerful unions to block the construction of only the city’s second Wal-Mart, at 83rd Street and Stewart Avenue.”

Here’s a new development in the controversy from today’s Chicago Business:

“A coalition of Chicago ministers is readying a campaign for more Wal-Mart stores in Chicago — and preparing another against aldermen who stand in the way.

The alliance of just over 200 ministers, representing more than 100,000 congregants, will first demand that Mayor Richard M. Daley grant administrative approval to begin construction of a Wal-Mart at the Chatham Market shopping center, saving that project from falling into foreclosure.

The group also will pressure aldermen to approve that store and others in retail-starved neighborhoods such as Englewood and Pullman.

If, as appears likely, more Wal-Marts don’t get the green light this year, the ministers say they’ll mount a campaign against aldermen who oppose the big retailer’s expansion. Taking a page from union groups that have held Wal-Mart back, the ministers say they will support candidates in favor of the store with political advertising and urge their congregants to vote against dissenters.”

The Wal Mart in my area employs many elderly people. I saw one man the other day that looked like he was in his 80’s. My have never seen an employer that has employs such a diversity in age. You don’t see that in Target or K Mart! Old people need jobs too!!!

Hey Steve, can you tell me more about the Wal Mart Pharmacy?

My wife takes several meds and we may soon lose our insurance. Is it really that much cheaper there?

Good Point! I don't know if they still do it, but Sara Lee used to import their flour from China!

Now I don’t know if you are kidding. Wal-Mart buys Tabasco sauce, it doesn’t make it.

I’m kidding, and I was from the get-go. Who could’ve figured that the Chinese would conspire to lower your price of Tabasco sauce?

Cheaper as long as the medication (generic) is on the $4 list.

Only the super Wal-Marts sell full groceries, the little stores only sell a few canned goods, soda, chips, milk and such like a glorified 7/11.

HALLELUJAH! Thank you, WalMart! Keep the non-union, free market system going.

I think perhaps you may want to read the Bio's of Walmart's Top Officers before saying that. Read them and you'll understand the decline in quality and quanity of stocked items in Walmart super stores and the smaller ones as well. Senior Management

It's by no means the store you think it is. This is not the same Walmart management who built up the customer base over the past years.
