144 Year Old Quote Still True Today
"Distory: A Treasurey of Historical Insults" - page 25 ^ | 1866 | James A. Garfield

Posted on 03/20/2010 11:47:14 AM PDT by Nevadan

Every Rebel guerrilla and jayhawker, every man who ran to Canada to avoid the draft, every bounty-hunter, every deserter, every cowardly sneak that ran from danger and disgraced his flag, every man who loves slavery and hates liberty. . .and every villain, of whatever name or crime, who loves power more than justice, slavery more than freedom, is a Democrat (and an endorser of Andrew Johnson).

James A. Garfield, 1866

Hear, hear.

Any objective observer of what the Rats are doing right now, claiming the “health care reform” will CUT the deficit, when they know good and well it is a blatant lie would have to conclude the the vast majority of Democrats in power right now are true scoundrels of the lowest possible level.

I wonder if the ‘rats will assassinate the next Republican president who dares to tell it like it is?

They done shot Mr. Garfield way on down.”

The second martyred Republican President is honored with a very imposing statue in Cincinnati’s Garfield Park.
Ohhh! How I wish that quote were to be inscribed on the pedestal.

And North Carolina and some other states wants to limit K-12 curriculae relating to US History to 1877 and thereafter? Could they be blue states? Observing.

Sir, do not disgrace the good name of every man, woman and child - free and slave - who fought for the Confederacy. They fought for an ideal. Whether you agree with that ideal or not, at least they had one.

RATs only care about money and power. There is no principle there.

The grass does not grow long beneath “Clusty’s” feet.

I just came across this thread and thought I would put the quote on a web site I run for a local Republican group. I searched for the quote to provide citation beyond a Free Republic thread, and the search lead me right back to this thread.
