Republican National Chairman Michael Steele and one of the organizers of Saturday's Tea Party rally strongly condemned the racial slurs that some black lawmakers alleged were yelled at them by some health care protesters as they headed for a procedural vote at Capitol Hill.
"I absolutely think it's isolated," Amy Kremer, the grassroots coordinator of the Tea Party Express, told Fox News on Sunday. "It's disgraceful and the people in this movement won't tolerate it because that's not what we're about."
Steele rejected the notion that the incident may make any association with the Tea Party Movement a danger.
"It's not a danger," Steele told NBC's "Meet the Press on Sunday." "It's certainly not a reflection of the movement or the Republican Party when you have idiots out there saying stupid things."
"As Leader Boehner said, that's reprehensible," he said, referring to House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. "We don't support that."

It’s an effective political strategy to undermine the tea party movement; the Democrats desire to build on Jimmy Carter’s outlandish remarks the equated the entire movement with racism ... Lewis has already played this trick ... so they just make this claim that they heard a racial slur hurled at them from the crowd ... the liberal media has been only to happy to push Obama’s legislation through the air waves and more than willing to discredit any movement that opposes his Socialist agenda. Remember, the Democrats tried to say that “tax cuts” were a code word for n****r. I remember Charlie Rangel saying that on Fox News long ago and I’ve seen some liberals online express the same notion that “kill the bill” is essentially a racial slur.
And .. there is a video available which shows the men walking through the tea partiers .. and the only words you can hear are boooooooing; and then they start chanting, “Kill the Bill”.
NOT ONE WRONG WORD WAS HEARD ON THAT TAPE.
And .. why did the men walk through the group in the first place, when the OTHER ENTRANCE INTO CONGRESS WAS FREE OF ANY PEOPLE.
Were they up to their usual .. RACE BAITING tactics ..??
I believe the answer is YES!! They just wanted to “create” a scene whereby they could ACCUSE WRONG DOING.
It didn’t happen the only ones who said it did are lying liberals. They got booed so what, ever been to a sporting event?
Pray for America
GREAT sign. Says it all.
I’ve heard the “you’re a racist” karp since before Obama won (stole?) the election. Even those I thought were good friends, people I’ve know for a lot of years, said that I was a racist for not voting for him and that I don’t care about “the poor.” Many of them are still true believers. They may realize they are dupes when this man’s policies start hitting them in the wallet...among other places.
I have yet heard Steele slam those that call patriotic Americans “tea baggers”.
Good example and one of my favorites.
I emailed Fox today with the same statements you made. "Why did they coose that door at that time"?
We all know why.
you should hear Sheila jackson lee right now...
you would roll your eyes..and oh yeah..did you know people ask her why her braids are so tight?? sheesh
You who support the (spineless) Republicans who only think the election in November will by itself will do any good - need to consider that the writing is on the wall that the Congress will be made impotent in the wake of the coming Administrative jihad that will circumvent Congress. After all the polls even suggest no one like Congress withpolls at 19% approval. The pattern is already there in the FCC, EPA and other executive branch overrides. See this diagram for example.
Then also at the later date any attempt too to override a veto by the Obama regime in Congress will also be unlikely.
Better realize the takeover of the government is almost completely here as a possibility and that WAITING until November will only make the impotent Republican majority look silly when they hold an futile Congress in there hands as Obama walks past them.
Obama is saying he does not care - "Here take the Congress in Novermber" - only to distract the Republicans. He knows there is nothing he needs later there when the vast majority of private industry is taken over by his govt.
How about talking about the freakin bill and not if R’s and Tea Party people are racist. How bout that! Its getting really tired folks.
Don't tell me that O's handlers would stoop to hiring some of the same SEIU thugs who beat up old and black people in St. Lou last summer to hide in the crowd and shout ignorant insults at congressmen? Naah, could never happen. /extreme sarc
Welcome to the new America. If the media say it happened, it happened, and it doesn’t matter if it didn’t. Orwell was off by 60 years but that’s about all.
You have to understand the twisted thinking of liberals and their duplicity...to them, “kill the bill,” is a racial slur.
Steele apologizing is all the confirmation the Libs and MSM need.
You’re correct .. when a family member or their child is stricken with a horrible disease and the “death panel” tells them it’s going to be months or years before they can get treatment; if they get treatment at all .. I wonder how supportive they will be.
I remember during the run up to the 2004 election, a co-worker said she hoped Hillary won the nomination because it WOULD BE HISTORIC - and she was going to register to vote just so she could be part of it. You can’t get much more ignorant than that.
And not one of these MORONS asked to see the video showing that it happened? We don’t need “leaders” like this, they are too dumb to lead.
Great idea .. because I have not heard one person on Fox reach that conclusion. And .. their last comment was full of pablum so I changed channels.
And .. it had to be obvious .. because the Congress building was full of people and they didn’t walk through the Tea Partiers .. and besides that .. HOW DID OBAMA GET INTO THE CONGRESS BUILDING WITHOUT HAVING TO BREACH THIS SAME CROWD. Obama didn’t go that way because he’s a coward.
Well, I suppose they felt they had to distance themselves, but they could have said, something like, IF this is true we condemn it, blah, blah. We will be reviewing all the videos we can find & try to identify this person or persons.
Guess they don’t want to call a respected congressman a liar.
