What’s to prevent them from using tax dollars to defend themselves in these lawsuits like Obama is using the AG’s office to defend himself against the eligibility lawsuits?

I am not a lawyer and I may be mistaken but, these would be valid PERSONAL lawsuits against Pelosi and other individuals named in separate personal lawsuits from many different jurisdictions. I don't believe such lawsuits can be paid for with taxpayer monies.

Sorry — we were posting “over” each other... I understand where you are coming from, I just thought there were laws to protect our elected officials from personal lawsuits of that sort. I am not a lawyer either — just trying to understand where you all are coming from in regards to the personal lawsuits. I can’t see how one could even be filed against any of them personally.

DOJ would defend them. Rightly so. Any such suits are arising out of actions they took in the course and scope of their elected positions.
